Hardware Selection at Lowes

It is TSC for bulk fastener hardware for me too.
The local Lowes seems to have a hard time keeping their bins organized. You have to look very closely at what I pick up to ensure that everything is the size it is supposed to be, meaning that if you want say a 2 1/2 inch bolt that it is actually 2 1/2 inch and not 2 or 3 inch. Maybe that is why they charge so much for their hardware. They feel they should get paid for entertaining their customers.

TSC is the ONLY place to buy nuts/bolts/washers!

THeir bulk weight pricing will be ANYONE ELSES prices hands down.

Plus its easier to file your tax exempt status with them.

I like Lowe's and HD for the common stuff but when I need something not-so-common, I go to ACE and they always have it. I use only Stainless Steel hardware in my business and good 'ol Ace always comes through. And the price always seems fair.

I like McMaster Carr, Fastenal is just up the road from me, and Ace Hardware has a pretty good selection.

I was amazed that my Lowe's does not stock fine thread bolts, even in the common 1/4 to 1/2" diameter. I prefer fine to coarse because they are stronger and can be torqued tighter. And if they have a mating component, well, you have no choice.
