Has Mahindra Passed Deere in sales?

I find little value in most sales hype regardless the company. :D

I have noticed on this site not too many are color blind either. :)

you doubting thomas's are a riot...you simply fail to believe something simply because you don't want to...or you just don't understand plain english...must be democrats :D

You seem to be more disturbed by the facts than the FORMER #1 tractor seller (deere)...methinks if they (deere) didn't believe it they would not stand idle...

like they say "Mahindra is now the #1 selling tractor in the world"

Live with it...

Pot, meet kettle. Whats the difference between "fail to believe something simply because you don't want to" and "methinks....[put anything here]" without truly knowing anything about it?

Maybe Deere couldn't care less what some Indian company says cause they're a drop in the bucket to them and would rather concern themselves with their real competition?

I personally couldn't care less if Mahindra is the biggest or not. More power to them if they are. I still wouldn't buy one unless I lived in India.

As the old saying goes, "you've got the easy part done", now all you need to do is prove it with hard documentation if you are so adamant about convincing everyone that Mahindra is the #1 selling tractor. In my estimation, you haven't done it. Who the #1 seller is doesn't matter to me, someone just needs to show the numbers if they want to prove it.

I neither believe nor disbelieve Mahindra's claim. But, I will not acknowledge the veracity of the claim without proof.:)

You mean that just calling everyone a "Doubting Thomas" isnt enough documentation?

That right there is the BEST way to sum up my position as well.
I still stand by my statement of this thread needs to be locked...UNTIL someone can cough up some cold hard undisputable numbers.

Until then, I'll continue tending to my "#1 Garden in the world"...

LoL...just a few more doubting thomas's...

I don't need to prove anything to you deere lovers that just can't handle the truth...

like I said...Live with it...

I couldn't really give a rat's a## who is number 1 in tractor sales. I would think however that a company (Mahindra) that originates in the second largest population zone on the planet might sell some tractors. Actually kind of surprising to me that a Chinese brand isn't number one. :)

I have seen this ad the last couple weeks on the TV cable channels, that shows a Mahindra tractor with a Brush Hog Mowing in a field while a neighbor farmers sets across the fence on his vintage John Deere (4020 maybe). When the ad is over the Mahindra owner has carved out #1 in the middle of the field and the neighbor sees it, he slaps his hat on the fender of the old JD he is setting on. My question is, Mahindra, #1 in what? Ken Sweet

"Figures don't lie but liars sure figure!" Number One in what?

I don't have any ax to grind about Mahindra or any other tractor manufacturer and I aslo don't have any facts but I intuitively think that Mahindra has a long way to go before it overtakes John Deere in sales volume measured in dollars. Mahindra may have a big footprint in the compact market measured by number of units sold because that's a market that is driven strongly by low purchase price and that's an area where JD has difficlty in competing. As I go through farming county where people make their living in agriculture, I see a lot of green, blue, and red, but darn few Mahindras. The pro's still look for support after sale and dealer performance and quite frankly the new foreign tractors seem to have a constant merry-go-round of dealers that change a few times a year. You read a lot on these forums about people who bought a tractor like a TYM or a Montana, etc and the dealer next door shut down and the closest dealer with service capability is now 200 miles away.

Mahindra may also be big in the third world where intial price is also the big driver.
So not knowing what the "Number One" designation means(Number One in what?), I think it's just may be the typical hype generated in the marketing department at Mahindra.

I find it interesting how no one here is willing to debate this on the numbers. All you guys will do is the same thing as Mahindra does... continual chest beating without any attempt to back your statements. "JohnDeere3370" found a statement about selling 85,000 units anually." I can find all kinds of stuff in the annaul report that shows just a tad more than that... but NO WHERE does there seem to be a number big enough that comes close to confirming this statement. I'm looking... is anyone else?

Hey... I sell 50% of the Cub Cadets in the USA
(USA, as defined as within 3.26 miles of zip code 17022. Left hand drive units only)

If anyone has acsess to the numbers and figures I would think it would be someone in a position like yours.
