"As it was, when I asked the salesman how much they charge for delivery, he gave me a funny look and said, 'It's free.'
...
They'll bring it out on Monday!!!
Oddly, my wife was more excited after we signed the papers than I was. She said, 'Now we can do all that landscaping we've been talking about.'"

Good dealer support is worth its weight in gold -- sounds like you are working with good folks there. My dealer delivered my
BX23, came back a couple of days later to top up the hydraulic fluid and left me with an extra bottle of Super UDT "just in case" (no charge), and will deliver and set up several implements for me when they come in early next month.
My wife had the same reaction. I think she is feeling sorry for all those years I have spent leaning on a shovel for her landscape projects. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
The
BX23 backhoe is almost a surgical instrument. Although this is my first experience with a BH, I have quickly learned how to do the basic operations. I find that I can strip sod easily to the desired depth, for example. Our first flower bed effort was a little rough, but on the second one I used the BH to strip sod and drop it into a small dump trailer hooked to our JD 108 (8 hp mower, 25 years old, on its second engine, transmission, seat, and front axle). Then I used the BH to spade up the soil, digging out each scoop to loosen it, then dropping it back in place. Then I used the FEL to bring in more dirt to bring the bed back up to level.
I think the
BX23 is the best landscaping tool ever invented. Certainly better than an Idiot Stick!
Idiot Stick: n. A stick, pole, rod, handle, etc., usually with a metal implement (shovel, hoe, rake, etc.) on one end and an idiot on the other. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
