We live 1 mi back on a private road

I was waiting for a passport, Fed-X delivered to an unoccupied neighbor's lake house. That took a few day to figure out

Fed-X never delivers boxes, claims no one was home. I work from home....

UPS, great service and used to call ahead so we could get our dog in or meet them at the black top

Out here I have what the PO calls Highway Delivery. They contract with private individuals to deliver mail outside of town. Many just drive unmarked personal cars to deliver. Larger packages are a real challenge for them. For the longest time, if a package didn’t fit in my mailbox, I got the pink slip for PO pickup. It’s a long way to town and sometimes it was perishable frozen items that sat in the PO until Monday.

I did some research and found that there is a USPS form online that when filed with the local PO REQUIRES the driver to deliver packaged to my home. There are some restrictions as the residence must be within 1/2 mile of a paved road and passible. I’m right at 1/2 mile and they deliver all packages now.
I found it, its PS 4232.

There's a woman here that lives maybe 2 miles back in the woods. There's nobody down the road from me for 3/4 mile, and her driveway turns off top of the next hill. Delivery people can't ever find her place, so I got her package once. I got word to her through a neighbor that sees her. Actually she leaves a 4 wheeler at their house so she can get to her own house when it's wet weather. She come up here telling me how she's all single and down there all by her lonesome. I've been just taking the packages to the neighbors since then. Plus I put my address number on my mailbox, and that helped too, on three sides, big and obvious.

I forgot to mention a couple years ago we had a grass/brush fire nearby, our UPS driver, Karl, hopped out of his rig and grabbed some hoses and set up sprinklers on a couple houses and garage, then ran and put a hose on a person's propane tank. Kept them from burning. Eventually they got air dropped water and full response, but his prompted response kept some people from becoming homeless.

Fed ex does that with my meds. I tell them to leave at basement door. It's covered and shaded. Nope...only thing they leave at the front door is a styrofoam container that needs to stay cooled that costs around $21K in the sun

UPS delivers my meds. Same though. Needs to be refrigerated. It comes packed in a cardboard box holding a decent sized 14"x 14" Styrofoam cooler. Cooler is packed with freezer packs around 1 shot similar in size to an epi-pen. Weighs about 20lbs

A few hours in the sun isn't any big deal the way they pack it.

Mine runs around $5k a dose.

I have a long gravel driveway. It's about 2100' of gravel with sand on top of clay on either side of it. It gets really muddy next to the driveway when it rains a bit. Amazon was making a delivery to the house on afternoon. Somehow the driver was not paying attention and drove off the edge of my driveway getting stuck. I pulled the guy back onto the road with my 4x4, but he did not know what he was doing and turned the wheel on the van causing it to spin and cross the driveway getting stuck again. At that point I quit helping and told him to call a wrecker. I took photos of the long ruts he made on both sides of my driveway and sent them to Amazon. The ruts were easily 40 or 50 feet long, because he "tried" to get unstuck. Amazon sent me a check for $400. I was happy at that point.

Just like others, I never know where FedEx or UPS will place deliveries. If the delivery guy has been out here before it usually gets to the house. If he hasn't there is no telling. I had one package get placed in a small tree near the road.

Ups, USPS both great delivery services here in S GA where I live ... Fed ex sucks royally ... Witnessed them tossing a package from ground level up on porch at front door. About a 8-10' span where it landed.

Kinda a delivery thing. Furniture truck decide to try and turn around on my single lane gravel driveway. Backed into the field, ran over my irrigation gear and got stuck. Called the furniture store and wanted to be reimbursed, they said sure no problem. Nothing for a couple weeks, till i went to the store and complained, in front of a bunch of potential customers and got cash, i said no to a check.
