Have you got a Kubota with a loader and backhoe

Not to muddy up the water - but you may be interested in the L35 - nice in-between size rig - worth a look. I'm always suggesting people go bigger than they're looking at - maybe because over the years there have been so many times when the job has been bigger than the machine. What ever you do, have fun shopping - take the time to get comfortable about what you want and why.

Pete,

I looked at the L3010/Woods 7500/4690 really liked the HP and size advantage offered for the same price. then decided on the B21 as specs were similar and what I needed were aligned with no MMM and easy on/off attributes of the BH. I know you're happy with the setup but wondering why you state the b21 is better as I have never run the 3010/4690 by comparison.

Yakima,

B21's are running about $24K from Carver - click on the link at the TBN home page for kubota's. Box scrapers are $4-800 pending size and construction. Locallynew B21s are running about $25K with some rebates in effect ($700 for B21's) you might get a little better price.

Regarding Dick's post on the L35 these are also very tough units with more capability, and price, about $32K range, but have no HST which in a TLB is very nice to have.

The B21 weigh in at 4000lbs and the L35 at 6000Lbs so for trailering there's a difference. Plus OH clearance you will need 93" for the B21 and more (not sure how much for the L35) but an 8' door is needed for the B21.

As far as driveway work, the B21 will handle that with even at a 20% grade. Will take a little longer than the L35 or larger due to the size of the rear tools. By the way, the 21 gets around trees and stumps very well when in the woods esp with the hydro, plus when in the BH, to move forward/back lift the stabilzers and FEL, and press the foot pedal to move - no changing seat position from the hoe.

Thanks for all the info everyone. I fell in love with the B21 at the dealership, I was very impressed with its capabilities and would have gotten one if it had fit into my budget (big sigh). After all of the tractor knowledge I have gleaned from all of you and your experiences, and after looking at many a tractor, I have finally made a decision. I have ordered a BX22. I ignored them for a long time as I drooled over the bigger models. I know it is much smaller than what I had initially wanted to get, but I think it will manage all of my needs. It may take a little longer to get some of the jobs done, but that just means I get to sit on my "baby 'bota" all that much longer!! I am really excited, should be seeing it come home in 2 to 3 days!

Yakima,

Glad you were able to come to a decision - per the other posts you have a great TLB in the BX22. Post some photos when it arrives.

I might have gone the BX22 route had they been available then, for the price performance they offer.
