I saw CW's post. The first thing I did was to check his profile, but there was no additional information provided. I thought that he did not give enough information to justify his conclusion at the time. Note that all warranties are voided either by use outside defined limits of the tool or machine as well as by inappropriate maintenance or abuse. A manufacturer may request for proof that one has a valid case before honoring a warranty, the fact that most of the time they take our words for it notwithstanding.

Since Kubota as an entity will not defend itself it is up to those that disagree with CW's conclusion (i.e. Kubota owners) to defend Kubota. The strong language used reflected the way they felt, and the first few comments were pleadings for more information.

The good thing about discussion boards like this is that nobody will be missed if they stop posting.

Why is it up to Kubota owners to defend Kubota? Is it a requirement to obtain financing or something? A criticism of Kubota is not a criticism of Kubota owners. As I see it, the only (possibly) maligned party with standing in CW's post was Kubota Corp, not Kubota owners.

That is a good point. I think CW was hopeing just maybe to get Kubota's attention. I cant speak for him, but all I know is that I would like to have my tractor fixed.It is really a bad deal when you have to make payments on something that you can not even use and then you have to turn around and hire someone to do the things that you purchased the tractor for to start with,especially when your talking about 20k dollars.

Oh but it does, hillslider. Just because someone says something, doesn't mean it's a fact! You have just as much right to speak your mind as 'anyone' else.

If I said JD warranties wasn't worth the paper written on, that would be an opinion. If I had proof, it would be a fact.

99.9999% of the post here are opinions.

So you see, it's all a bunch of opinions. Some you agree with, some you don't. Some get agitated, some don't.

It'll all come out in the wash, just keep scrubbing

I'm sure not the CEO, but if I were a manufacturer interested in keep people satisfied I would have people keep tabs on the discussion boards. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Making a public complaint worked for me once with a problem I had with Northern Tools. We were building a house in the boonies during the Y2K generator frenzy. There are frequent power outages in our area due to trees hitting the power lines so we ordered a standby generator out of the Northern catalog. The one we selected was backordered for four months, which was fine because our house wasn't gonna be ready for six months. When the generator finally arrived they charged my credit card $400 MORE than the catalog price. I called their customer service dept. and got nowhere - they said due to demand the prices had all gone up, they reserved the right to increase prices, and they would not honor the catalog price after four months. I posted a complaint in a usenet forum and within two days a Northern representative contacted me via email and said they would credit my credit card. I also had a friend who bought a WaterFurnace brand geothermal heatpump. It never worked right so he posted a public complaint on usenet, and he got a call from the manufacturer who sent a service rep out to fix it.

It does happen.

I should probably add that public complaints that are reasonable and state the facts are more likely to get resolved than those with venom and emotional hyperbole. I think everyone agrees CW fell a little short in that area and he probably should have cooled off a bit before posting.

Well, 20K was for the tractor and as far as we know he's going good with that except he thinks it has no warranty either. It's the hoe that has a problem, a bent dipperstick who's warranty was rejected as we understand it or assume to know, because he welded to it. I agree with you though, making payments on something not working is tough, even if you may have done something to cause it or at least invalidate the warranty. It makes me think about a fella here who had a L4310 and modified many things on it. MChalkey is his name and modifying everything is his game. He put larger lift cylinders on the loader, increased from 2" to 2.5" as I recall. Had there been a problem, I'm sure the warranty would have been nullified and knowing Chalkey, he would have just dealt with it. Addressing the desire or hope to get Kubotas attention may have been a dream, I doubt manufactuers or even a dealer is going to be scanning the internet for disgruntled customers. I really would like to have heard at least the dealers take on all this. He after all is supposedly working with CW to get the warranty claim accepted from Kubota. I think there have been some great comments by many folks here, heck even Rogue has had a few. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
