Like you I was going to this this thing fade away. But I could not resist adding something more, because I find it facinating that you would think this thread is about CW, while I think is about the CW thread being deleted, and not so much about CW or his post!!!!

This illustrates, me thinks, how many people can be reading the same words and coming to such different conclusions! One see Kubota bigots, and another sees simply requests for further information in a timely manner.../forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

The only solution I can see is for me to follow the moderators lead...

Rogue, I think you have it right as Muhammed explained earlier. I was kind of hoping this is where Muhammed was going to explain a little further. I did not think the responses were any big deal. Perhaps a little terse when CW failed to show evidence on the first few posts and little more specific when he dug up and posted a picture of a twisted or bent dipperstick. That pretty much summed up what I recall reading. I know there were some jabs thrown towards other members like Cowboydoc, but hey that always happens. I for one would be fine with another CW post, provided he rewrite his subject line and include some detail right off the bat. If it is reposted as it was the first time, you can expect the same level of responses and skeptical attitudes from folks like me and in all likelyhood, a potential for it to be deleted. Rat...

P.S. It doesn't matter the brand either!

I'm with Henro on this one - I thought this post was about the CW post being deleted - NOT trashing CW. For gosh sakes, CW is welcome back in my opinion. As a matter of fact I'd love to find out what happened and - if he's out there - encourage him to post again.

Here's a thought on the whole issue. It's human nature to defend a choice that you have placed a great deal of time, thought, and cash into. Our "investments" in Kubota tractors dictate that we will likely defend our choices when we see them questioned. Note that it is NOT Kubota we are defending, but OUR choices. That takes the matter to a personal level and results in the vigorous defense we observed.

In all likelihood, the only way for the original post to have played out was exactly as it did; and as such, deleting it was probably the best choice. It would have been nice if we could have frozen the thread for 24 hours though. Perhaps we could have convinced CW to restart the thread in a different manner.

Good plan Mike - and maybe a post from a moderator that "whistles the play dead".... something to the effect of "OK guys, let's hold off and let CW reply for himself and if he doesn't, then let the thread die."

I am sorry the entire thread was deleted. I was interested in finding out what really happened. I was skeptical about CW's claims, only because he made some general comments about Kubota's warranty that I know to be false based on my experience.

The comments about knowing about all these other examples of Kubota not honoring its warranty further reduced the amount of credibility I attributed to CW.

However, I'm not convinced that what we said happened didn't happen just like he said. Sounds like the dipperstick bent like he said and Kubota attributed it to abuse. I don't know what you can do with a backhoe that would be abuse, it seems like it either has the power to dig where you're digging or not, but shouldn't bend. In his case he was probably upset and embelished the case with all these other known situations where Kubota did not honor the warranty.

I commented about my tractor and one other known situation where Kubota didn't ignore our problem, but also in my opinion should have given us new tractors while they used their own time to research the problem rather than leaving us users to go with power steering and hydraulic problems for nearly 2 years of the tractor's life, while we are making payments and not enjoying our purchase as much as we should.

This is not to say Kubota does not "cover anything", as CW posted.

I am disappointed about the thread being deleted because I was interested in it. I don't think posts that describe problems they have had with manufacturers should be deleted. This is part of what this board is supposed to be about. We're grown men (and women) and should be allowed to make our own assessments as to whether the posters' claims are, or are not accurate. I believe this is what we tried to do in most of our responses to CW. Skeptical, and asking for more information, but still receptive to hearing about the problem if given more information.

CW didn't help himself because of the way he painted Kubota's warranty as "not covering anything", and this was perhaps due to frustration over the damaged hoe.

I wish CW would come back, and I wish the thread would return, so we can get to the bottom of it.

CW's post was borderline trolling because of the way he wrote it, but there could have been just enough shread of truth to it that it should have played out. Those who go to various boards and post such nonsense will ultimately be ignored and /or banned by our site owner, before they can muck up the works too much.

I don't believe CW's post was a spontaneous outburst of emotion. If you recall, he had as many as 50 folks with Kubota warranty issues to back him up. Wow, thats a number hard to believe, it makes one wonder how a company could manage to stay in business. It's not a number one gets easily one day when his tractor breaks, goes to the internet, finds TBN, posts a rather remarkable request, provides no detail with that post , but provides as evidence that his claim has merit by saying many others are also having the same warranty issues and what, expects a bunch of sympathy? He got some, but more then that, was questioned for detail that should have been provided from the very start. While I can sympathize with CW's unfortunate issue, the claims that the warranty is unclear, that it does not cover the fuel pump as one of as many as 50 others had claimed is simply untrue. Realize too the likelyhood of ever hearing the other side of the story was very unlikely, because of that, I think everyone should be a bit skeptical and inquisitive of such a remarkable claim. "Don't buy a new Kubota, buy used or another brand". As has been mentioned many times now, CW is more then welcome to post again, hopefully with a little more discretion and a lot more info, maybe even a little information about himself. I find it interesting the reluctance folks have in not providing a thing about themselves yet will provide a nice story about what happenmed to them. Perhaps you can answer that. I hope in the future, any issues like these can be handled in a far more beneficial way. This post had little to do with bashing CW, it had everything to do about posting, CW's post was merely used as evidence. Rat...

It is interesting how I had a totally different take on why the post was deleted than the rest of you seem to have. Where I thought it crossed the line was when members started taking shots at the moderators. The way I remember it there were several derogatory and in my opinion down right rude remarks that implied that certain moderators were not fair because of brand preference, ever. I felt it was getting to personal amongst members and if my volunteer staff was being put down in that type of way I would have stopped the discussion also. It is my opinion if anyone has a problem with who Muhammad has elected to use to help run the forum it should be taken up with him in a private message not in an open discussion.
