Don't expect beef to drop much. The drought last year made the stocker operations cull their herds radically, and things are not looking any better this year. Feedlots are being squeezed by high grain prices and high feeder prices. Processors want to get rich. Chicken prices will be up if bird flu wipes out a big part of the flock. Pigs might be your best bet for meat, though Smithfield is shipping a lot to China because disease killed off so much of their herd. Chronic Wasting Disease is a problem in venison, and now somebody got infected with Covid from dressing a deer.Meat at the butcher shop is not too terrible if you buy in bulk.
