I just knocked 40 down. Tomorrow I’ll do another 40 if it doesn’t rain too much.

Spread urea on 13 acres for a last late batch of hay. Using up leftover bags. 120 lbs/acre on our best producing field and rained right in. Cooler temps coming up. I'm predicting it could push the 50-70 bales/acre for 3rd cutting.

Local farmer hired me to deliver 12 bales to a customer, 3x3x8, alfalfa/grass. She didn't have a way to unload so I used the dump. I stopped at the gravel pit and weighed, 23580 gross, 15260 tare, 8320 net, so 693 per bale. Then I picked up 6 ton of rock for myself.

I kinda messed up the dump, one side was hung up on a D-ring, so I had to lift it pretty high to overcome it. That caused the load to dump too fast and the top bales kinda flew I will do better next time.

Is that ten hours of mowing? 4 acres per hour? I've said it before, but I really do find it amazing at how fast you can go in your tractor, and get so much done!!!

Another 35 acres down and I'll be "caught up". That is not something that happens very often with the amount of acreage we cover. Also not common the weather models agreeing on a long stretch of rainfree weather.

Its chemically burning a field by spraying it so you can plant new grass, alfalfa, cereal rye, etc.
