When I graduated from high school I purchased my first bike, a CB 350 Honda. My parents threatened "You will not live under our roof if you buy a motorcycle". I brought the bike home and a couple of weeks later my dad was taking it for a spin, lol. My wife enjoyed driving as well as riding motorcycles herself. Over the next few years we had several bikes (Hondas) and toured several states, including a 6000 mile trip to California, before we sold our toys and started a family. Back in those days Harleys were the bikes you saw broke down along the high way. In 2002 I bought my first Harley (Heritage Soft Tail) and the following year I bought two more. I found that the Harleys had a lower seat height and fit better than the Honda. Last month I traded two of the Harleys in on a Harley touring machine. I kept one of the 100th Anniversary models for keep sake reasons.
I truly like my Harley, but the friendships we have developed over the years are what we cherish the most.
With that said, I LOVE MY NEW JOHN DEERE TRACTOR!!

Great pictures, you have a beautiful wife and child; really identified with the one where you are holding your baby on your chest.
We have two sons and two daughters from 33 to 47, five granddaughters, two grandsons and one great grandson; love them all, but there is just something special about the first.
Thanks for sharing your family.

I had metrics and loved them, but I really loved my Harley. I'm really not a "Harley guy," but I love the panache of some of their bikes.

When I did my bars, I spent altogether about $400 for bars and cables. I bought the Burly Cable Kit and it was easy - no soldering, just switch out the cables and wires and that way if you want to switch back it's easy too. I never felt a lack of control with the apes, but I wasn't riding slaloms, either.

I have looked at many of his pictures, and as a former advanced amateur 35mm photographer, I can attest he has an excellent eye for framing, background, and composition...and I am sure his pictures are so good in part because he has such a beautiful wife and baby to model for him.
Hey Nick, as OP of this thread I am very upset with you for NOT going off topic sooner than you did...as much as I like to look at hot bikes, they simply cannot compare with your pride and joy...:thumbsup:

You are right about that. My brother was a photo journalist in the Navy many years ago and I eventually became interested in photography. I got a Canon TL-QL in college read a lot of books and then upgraded over time to a Minolta Maxuum which is sitting in my safe then went through some Canon digital cameras. I like photography, but realized there is more to good pictures than equipment and I don't have it. My hat is off tho those that do.
My daughter is really good at it and does the yearbook where she teaches and one son is into it.
My current camera is a nice Canon EOS with all the really neat features I had every intention of using, but it stays on automatic.

I owned a trio of Minolta X-700, X-570, and XG-M cameras with a whole slew of lenses, motor drives, flashes, tripods, etc. The one issue that discouraged me from becoming really good at photography was that no matter how I tried to adjust exposures by using different focal lengths, stops, shutter speeds, etc. when I got my prints back, automatic photo processing usually failed to show much variance in the finished product. I began working with B&W film and really enjoyed that, but about the time I was getting good, I moved out of the city into the country, and photography basically got put on hold for a long time.

I love digital because the results are instant. I'm a Canon person too, and run a 400 and a 600 EOS with Sigma lenses.
... but for shots like this I use an old Canon Ixus
