I used to be part of the crowd who had to have a Harley. As I got older and had back surgery, I went with a touring bike with a very upright position. Much more comfortable and I can ride all day with no back pain. I also realized I was getting old when I started to detest the loud pipes. So the new bike had to be quiet.

Not trying to be critical, but I detest the appearance of those type of bikes, personally...THAT think is QUIET AND COMFORTABLE...? Sorry, to me the general looks of those reminds me of something out of a "Mad Max" film. I am 60 years old and quite fit but would have a hard time swinging a leg over that seat. Give me a Low Rider any day.

I am not familiar with the newer Ducati bikes, which model is that?

Looks good to me  Is there a purpose for the secondary, lower rear fender ... the horizontal-ish one ... or just for looks?

Nice Duc! But personlly I've never heard a quiet Duc, I would liek to add one to my "stable".

I currently have 4 Harleys. One is my wife's. The blue one is the one I crashed and shattered my collarbone back in early Nov. I just got it back Friday...

I love my Harley's, but I love my kids & wife more. I love my tractor also. Mostly I LOVE to ride...

I rode many bikes as I was an MSF safety instructor from 1998 to 2006 and I ended up on Harley's because the felt better, and I was more comfortable on them. I did Anaheim CA to Fredericksburg VA in 4 days back in Sept 2007, and I did Sturgis SD in 2000 (3500 miles in 5 days). I think my best year I put 13,000 miles on one bike, and a couple thousand each one of my other bikes. They are like tractors, they seem to accumulate over time.

My bikes are all kind of dirty, because if I have a couple hours, I'd rather ride than polish, so they never get washed (I used to wash them every Father's day).

But when I die it will say I loved my family & God first. Harleys will be in there somewhere, but not on the headline...

Be well,
David

Bill,

The newest (Wife's sporty & Big Red) are 2004's and I bought them back in the day when income was VERY good...

The oldest is the Buell it is a 1995 and I got it when I traded away a low mileage hotrod Saleen Mustang for it and some cash... It was FAST, but the Buell is even faster... But it is hand built and it is always broken. The fuel line is cracked and needs replacing now. Always somehing little and annoying that I just never get around to fixing. I must be lazy or too busy... Hmmm...

Old Blue is my "go to" bike. it has almost 50,000 miles on it now I bought it with 5 miles on it back in 2000 when stocks in my company at that time actually had positive value...

I really love to ride and I've not ridden a mile since the accident... I should get the 100% all-clear today from the DR. :D:thumbsup:
