I have not yet made a material move but have concluded that anything increasing the tractor envelope is not acceptable. I have experimented with LED flashlites held at various locations just under the canopy. I find this to be the best place and will put it into effect when/if I really need to.

I find LED flashlights too weak compared to standard headlights. A couple of hundred powerful LEDs in a bar would be great but $$$.

They have led flashlights now that are amazingly bright and efficient, the technology is moving faster than the computer chip technology was a few years ago. I have no experience with 12 volt vehicle leds (except for stop/running/clearance lights), but I expect they will really change things with the aux headlight/ worklight market.

I agree but I haven't seen any reasonably priced units yet. Last time I looked it would cost well over $100 for LED units compared to 30 or so for traditional units.

I'm not convinced of the durability on the brighter LEDs yet either...

I suspect prices will start coming down soon.

In the flashlight market now you can get a light for $60. that a few years ago was several hundred dollars.

Made in China of course, but surprisingly high quality.
I just bought one of these,

Youre only going to need a total of 20W or so LED lite to make your tractor a lite island. While Ild opt to wait a little on the availability of good floodbeam wired in LEDs for 12V, you could literally go right now with about 3 handheld flashlites clipping into appropriate places. Remove and use elsewhere when needed.

I'm gonna have to try that, I love the canopy but the increased sound is a nagative.

What I used is a 4'x6' roll of the multi-purpose heat and sound insulation ($29.95) from LMC Truck.
Then cut it to fit.
Part #48-2590
It is a well made insulation mat.

TractorCabDepot.com - Cabs, Enclosures, and Accessories for all your Tractor Needs has light mounting brackets for mounting lights, no drilling required. priced right too.

I simply used a piece of uninstructed I had lying around and two u-bolts inside of roll bar (no sun shade). Lights are up high and clear everything. Mounted a marine switch (no relay neededed if switch is properly rated and fused) in the plastic cowling behind the 3ph height lever. Two front one back. They work great.

There are several threads on roll bar mounted lights, with a lot of good photos. Just search for them. Here again is my "light bar". Don't have photo of switch mount, but another member actually gave me the idea and used a similar switch. He did post photos.
