JT>>>why did you settle on the F3080? Why not the 2680? Do you feel you need the extra hp or what??:)
He's right, I need 4wd at home thus the F3080. I have the F2680 which I have had for a couple of years that I use to mow flat rental property that's about a mile and a half past Barlows.:)
The F2680 does a great job on the flat land. So good that I want one for my residential hillside property. I brought the F2680 home to try it and it won't pull some of my steeper places without slipping. It will back up the hills but not forward without lifting the mowing deck which sort of kills the mowing aspect.:)
I started with 5 acres of hillside, rocky, some trees and gullied land. I've done most of the subduing the land to my residential needs by going thru a few (8) different Kubota tractors. I'm now at the stage of doing a lot of hillside and level mowing (F3080) and always some smaller projects (BX25).
The F2680 did so well is the reason I bought the F3080. The F model Kubota is just the ultimate mowing machine so the decision is if 2wd will work or if 4wd is needed. The 2wd will do hills but I have some steep ones.

Thanks for the tip. I know the FEL was supposed to be so easy but it was a nightmare for me and then the hoses wouldn't go back on due to the built up pressure but I hope BH goes better.

Forgot to add the reminder ... move BH levers in all directions after shutting off tractor and before disconnecting hoses. If left in sun you may need to relieve pressure before re-connecting hoses. :D Just trying to help!

I have to make a correction. I said a ZD may beat the F on a blacktop parking lot. I'd said that not looking at the actual factory advertised speeds for each machine. I'd heard the "It's a nice mower, that F, but a ZD is faster" so many times I'd started believing it. I know that I keep my F2680 in the Turtle setting and it will fly, does alot faster than I can go and hold on. I'm afraid the Rabbit speed will make my nose bleed.:)
Since I'm waiting on the delivery of the F3080 4wd I was looking at the Kubota 2009 FULL LINE BROCHURE. Out of curiousity I looked at the F speed which is 12.5MPH and at the fastest Kubota ZD which is 10.6MPH. Now to me, 12.5mph is faster than 10.6 by a pretty substantial percentage. Bottom line, no more accepting that a ZD is faster than a F. Aren't Factory Brocures educational as well as pretty to look at.:) Better get my delivery pretty soon before who knows what I'll do next.;)
Only a place or two I can run a ZD full speed, plus I'd expect your F series to deliver a better looking cut than a ZD will (stripes, that is).

...F speed which is 12.5MPH ...ZD which is 10.6MPH.
I've driven a ZD21 at full boogie. Puts a breeze in your hair, that's for sure. Not certain how fast it was, but it was certainly fast enough. Can't imagine you'd actually MOW at 12.5 MPH, but it makes getting to and from the barn a little easier (faster).

I doubt i could mow at 5MPH and couldn't do the 12.5MPH getting to mowing areas. Might could on a parking lot but my point is the faster ads, once a certain speed is reached is irrelevent.

If you ever take the backhoe off spring for a dolly from BXpanded. Now that I have a bigger tractor and dont have one I can tell you it makes a HIUGE difference!

I do have a KK XB Boxblade. Have had it for years and it has done all I've asked of it. Getting pretty faded but still performs like new.
I'm going to be gone a week to French Lick, Paragon, Shipshewanna Indiana hope F3080 is in and ready for delivery on my return. Will do side by side pictures of all of them then since it will be the only time all 3 will be at the same location.
