I just wanted to say Hi to the community and introduce myself. I currently own two commercial Toro Groundsmaster mowers. In the past, I have owned several older farm tractors (Farmal B and an Allis WD 45). I came across this site as I was researching compact utility tractors. I am looking to buy a compact utility tractor with a FEL that I can use on my 5 acres for projects, maintenance, and snow removal. I am hoping that I can learn from current owners experiences as well as possibly help out some of the members with my Ag Engineering background.

Yes, as a matter of fact, on one of my older Toro Groundsmaster 72 machines I previously owned, it came with a McKee blower. I mounted it one winter and tried it. The GM 72 was only 2-wheel drive and it was very difficult to not be stuck constantly. I put chains on the drive wheels, but even then, if the wheels spun just slightly, I was stuck. I think the gravel base made it worse than it would have been if I had a concrete drive. It also did not steer well, even with added weight on the back. I came to the conclusion that without 4 wheel drive, it didn't pay to waste my time. That is about when I bought a WD-45 and used that to plow. My current Groundsmaster 345's are also 2-wheel drive so I don't think it pays to go that route again.
