Welcome to the forum!

I was looking at Google Maps of the area and noted the mid 20s temperatures. We're at 75 and sunny but of course, it still Winter down here in the Lone Stare State so it's a little cool. :giggle:

Can't wait to see pictures. By the way, your English is fine and better than most of us hillbillies. (y)

Welcome, from the First State of the United States. As others have already said, your grammar is more than good, and I also look forward to pictures that you may post, of literally anything in or around rancho and your new Yanmar (great tractor).
BTW, it sounds like rancho is quite a nice piece of property, so plenty room to move about, build some structures, hunt, (fish ?), and have fun with the tractor.

Everybody is asking for pictures, so lets take a look :)

Just random snaps.

Rancho:
Sovjet's MTZ with my new firewood processor attached. BTW - great machine. Not tractor, that's junk, that processor works super.
0 electrics, all mechanics and hydraulic splitter. Super reliable, simple, efficient. If wood is good, 2 guys working can make big-bag 1,2 X 1,2 X 2 m full in 20 minutes.

In North side of EU midsummer drinking party is a thing. People celebrate shortest night. Come together, stay up till morning sun, drinking (a lot of) beer. And bonfire. Who have biggest, that is king of district :)

This is our First Lady with our President
18/11, our Independence day we were gathering in city centre. My son noticed - this guy looks exactly like our Egil. I checked, no ****. They were just casually walking. OK, 1 bodyguard was with them, you can see half of that guy on left side
I told to my son - if you would like to have picture with him - go and ask. I am too shy for this
Kids dont have boundaries :)
They were was very kind and polite.

My oldest daughter is taking safe winter driving lessons. They are not mandatory, but I think, they should be for every teenager. I am convinced - if young person can't make "scandinavian flick" - they shouldn't have driving license. At least my kids will know, how to drift on ice

That's how first category road might look, that's why

Yo

I am owner of small company, located in Riga, Latvija
For those who are now wondering, where the hell is that place - it’s 100 miles from Sweden, just over Baltic Sea. And yeah, we have border with Russia and now NATO and US helps us to keep that border tight. Thank you for your service !

For the climate - it’s 57 parallel. google it ! As you can see, it is running trough Scotland and south Canada and bit of south Alaska islands too. But because of Atlantic Ocean we here don’t have very severe winters. Last time -30 C was 10 years ago :)
But still there could be quite snowy periods of time. As snow cleaning contractors are on limited supply here I have decided to get my own tractor

I just got Yanmar SA 424, right now it is still at dealer, their service guys are installing 3-rd function kit on FEL.
For implements I have FEL with bucket and forks. And on rear 3p - broom (or rotating brush), running from PTO. Aaa and “belly mower” too
Yanmar's unique FEL attachment is a bit pain. I have decided to go for very special snow blade, made in Finland. (You know, those fins now how to handle snow :)). But they was not so happy to make that blade for Yanmar.
For summer that tractor will migrate to my “rancho”. 10 Ha, mainly woods. I already there have one old Soviet times 80 Hp / 4 T piece of (shitty) cast iron there. That is ok to use in forest. Yanmar will be “assistant” in logging and “power station” for firewood processor.

p.s. I have searched in this forum for “Latvia”. Name was mentioned in relation with Wavian Jerry cans. Yeah, those cans are made here. Really good product. I am sorry for you as your retailer charge you double the price as we have here. I suppose that’s because shipping.

P.p.s. Grammar nazis are welcome. If you see any mistakes - please point at them. I don’t mind at all. :)
Well I know where Latvia is, and a hearty sveiks to you.

Firewood time

Friend of mine is running hardwood flooring company. Those chunks is no value to him, so every year I am taking 2 - 3 for Midsummer bonfire and heating
IMG_6236.jpeg

It is oak.
You might notice - cut is not 100 % perfect. That's because I am sharpening chain by hand

Result. At the end of quite hard day

IMG_6587.jpeg

That is my heating sys centre
20 kW boiler, 2 T accumulator
Underfloor heating
This allows to me load boiler once per 48 hours. Then it burns like 5 - 6 hours, thus heating water from 30 to 80 C.
And 2 days later repeat.
Fully auto, just clean ashes 2 x in winter
