I didn't think the rust looked OEM.
Does the bolt go through a notch, or is it merely tightening the yoke around the shaft?
One might be able to add a large fender washer around the PTO shaft as a spacer between the yoke and the guard provided it had something to ride against (is that the part 15 spacer?)
I can't image that you damaged the original yoke on the PTO shaft, but as I just swapped a PTO yoke yesterday, I can attest that they are a pain to swap (especially if all the 37x2 needle bearings fall out).
As I was shopping for PTO shafts two days ago, I quickly learned that not all PTO shafts are made equally. I had to shorten the one I bought slightly (which probably was a bad idea), and when I put the bandsaw hacksaw onto the inner shaft (solid), it didn't hardly scratch the surface.
Anyway, the JD Dealership is probably already thinking of you as the customer from... (oh, I lost the word I was putting here, but Inferno will have to substitute).
But, they should get it "RIGHT".
