Email your service Rep and CC salesman, asking / confirming this is the only bill. They made a lot of problems go away and if your only out $274 your lucky. They may have written it up that way for a reason, and it probably isn't to "get" you,

That's DEFINITELY my hope. I try to see the good in people.

In trade transactions, a pro forma invoice is a document that states a commitment from the seller to sell goods to the buyer at specified prices and terms. It is used to declare the value of the trade. It is not a true invoice, because it is not used to record accounts receivable for the seller and accounts payable for the buyer.

I read it as a simple courtesy to you. Same as getting a 'bill' from the doctor saying 'Do not pay, insurance billed'..

Definitely double check that however..

Called dealer today and talked to the manager. He and I seem to be on same page regarding above. No word yet on warranty though. Ill let you know what final verdict is.

Certainly don't pay if there is a chance that they will bill you for "additional work". Unless you can confirm that paying $274 will end your liability for the work.

$274 for pickup and delivery of the tractor, and 2 weeks worth of work on it doesn't sound that bad.

My guess is that the dealership is trying to bill JD for something in excess of a thousand, perhaps a few thousand. If JD pays it, then the dealership will make out very well.

Installed the rear fender extensions. Was pretty easy. Had to leave out a spacer in order for threads to catch in the front. Need to cut some grass - the right door will have to wait.

Yes, I was using it to bury some irrigation tubing from my pond to our orchard. Worked pretty well. I wish the upright part was thinner.

The saga continues. At least the saga with the pto shaft on my cutter. I started noticing an intermittent squeak while using it last weekend. Today I finally had a chance to investigate. I'm not sure if this is the source of the noise but its definitely a problem and I couldn't go any further.

It looks like the bolt on the pto shaft that squeezes onto the spindle was too close to the heads of the bolt that holds on the plastic guard. As it spun around the nut and bolt heads wore each other away.

It seems to me that this shows incorrect installation when they repaired my pto shaft earlier this month. Is there any possible way I could have done this?

Are these all original parts? It looks like they have replaced the yoke or forward drive shaft with the wrong one. I think the bolt hole in the yoke should be further forward. Is there any movement, forward or backward, of the shaft in the pedestal? Maybe there is a spacer, key 15 (1st drawing), missing or installed wrong?
