Hi, My bh75 boom is stuck. It seems to have gone past the mechanical stops toward the seat. I can't move the boom anymore. See pic. -Doug

Is the hyd. cyl. against the rops?

No, the ROPS isn't touching the hydraulic cylinder, I folded it down so I could fit most of the tractor in the garage. The stuck boom is preventing me from putting the rest in. The bucket, dipper and boom left/right all still move.

Doug,

Hey, just had a dumb thought (yeah, happens a lot...) Is the control for the boom still connected and operable? There isn't something blocking it or the lever didn't come free did it?

If it is operable, and the boom won't lower, I am assUming that the pressure relief is blowing when you work the control?

Interesting....That is a new one. I would relieve all pressure with tractor off and see if it will just fall on its own. Oh and try pushing on it...it may be just over center????
I would also send this picture and several more angle shots to your dealer so he can see if this has happened before.

Hi John, Yes the control levers all appear to be working. I used a flashlight to see the linkage and control valves, they looked ok. Tomorrow I will notify my dealer.

Hmmm,

It's pretty odd. There shouldn't be any linkage or cam actuation in the boom. Just a straight hydraulic cylinder. Extending and retracting the rod makes the boom go up and down.

If there isn't some physical blockage of the boom and you can hear the engine bog down and the pressure relief when you work the control, I'm stumped.

Please let us know what the dealer finds.

jb

On edit,

The boom looks to have cam'ed over and working the control normally to lower the boom won't work. Have you rocked the controls back and forth? Working the control to raise the boom may, in this case, lower it slightly so that a quick snap will let it go down.

Doug, are there extrnal stop blocks on this hoe? any chance you can pry it back past the stops into the normal range (tractor off, valve in boom down position - hold the valve by hand and be careful nobody is standing in the boom path)

Hi, I couldn't locate any mechanical stops. Maybe the stops are inside the boom? I sent my dealer a couple of pictures today. Tomorrow the Kubota rep. will be at my dealer and he is going to show him the pics. I will give an update when I find out what is wrong. -Doug

It appears to be over center. In such a case it will have to be pulled back. Looks like it was backed into something.
