It's a 2003 model, has never been outside the shop and comes with 2 100 foot welding cables

Considering that it almost new and is a AC/DC machine, I would take it for a test drive and if it works like it is supposed to I would buy it and be happy for the next 30 years.:D:D:D:D

Both of my stick welders are around 40 years old. That doesn't seem to hurt them much.:cool:

Plasma definitely. Once you go plasma you never go back. I got one a few years back that will cut 5/8 inch ($2500 mind you) and I haven't cut with the torch since. I do a LOT less grinding now because the cuts are much cleaner.

I vote for the welder. I have that machine and it works good but I will say I use my Hobart 187 99% of the time for my welding needs.

Since you have a MIG and a torch set, next logical choice is a plasma.
