J J, you gotta be careful, because you make it sound simple to add remotes... lots of guys will probably start thinking about doing so, and you'll be busy with P.M.s answering questions. Very useful stuff!

About all I am going to say on that is that is if you can turn a wrench and chew gum at the same time, you can install some of these hyd attachments.

I was a Navy instructor for many years, and a lot of what we did was show and tell or tell and do. I retired as a Chief Petty Officer with 22 yr, flying P2V, and P3 aircraft, so I did acquire some skills. I started out as an electronics technician and later to Antisubmarine Warfare Operator. Of course there is no equivalent civilian skill, so had to learn something else. Landscaping and using hyd equipment, and doing my own maintenance. So here I am struggling to remember what I have learned. I also retired from the landscape business.

I hope to keep myself active and keep learning things that I had no time for and keep searching for that knowledge. As all of you know, knowledge is power.

It is simply a matter of reading instructions or listening to someone.

And to think, years ago, I had a 5 number lotto with only 10 numbers from the sixth number for the big one.

Think of how much you have learned, and how your confidence level has increased on this subject. All good things.

I completely agree. It was a great learning experience. I got a tractor as a project as much as I got it to do a project.

My only hesitation in the future would be some of the space constraints of a cabbed tractor. I probably wouldn't have problems with an electric over hydraulic setup. I know i couldn't get as clean of a setup with pure hydraulics in the confines of a cab though.

If I were buying a cabbed tractor, I'd spend the money on the factory hydraulics up front.

J J: interesting career- my late father was a chief petty officer in the Navy in WWII- he wound up in Pensacola, running a propeller rebuilding "factory" to salvage the bent props that flying students wrecked. Towards the end of the war, there wasn't much to do, so in order to stay out of trouble (his work force was all Navy Waves!) he started making wonderful knives from car springs, aluminum and bakelite. The planes he liked the most were the PBYs, if I have that right... the big patrol amphibians. Had I been smarter, I would have called him Chief when I was younger.
