This owner said he was only pressing against a cedar stump.

Wow! I got to admit that's pretty impressive! That guy must have went full speed into a light pole or something. Maybe they need to start making these tractors with airbags...

yep sneak up on them at just creep speed, but if any look like they have any dead on them at all, I pull them over from a great distance. I will probably make a mistake and get a limb some day, but so far I have evaded damage.

Yeah, they are called widow makers for a reason.

We've done more than plenty of dumb things in my day; brought a dead 24" through sassafras down on the cage of our skidder once when I did not have the log I was dragging winched up close enough to the skidder.

I stay away from dead trees unless I'm in the dozer or track loader now.

Very good reminders here about pushing over dead trees. I came upon one and almost started to push on it. About 30ft high and the top was brittle and when cut with chain saw top fell apart when it hit the ground. These things could kill you at worst and damage the tractor best. Good reminders above.

There is major difference between hi & lo on this tractor. Also as stated earlier, hi should only be used for transportation not hauling any loads. Plus, don't forget your differential lock when in lo, just make sure you're at a complete stop before engaging.
I had it in hi range...dang...put it in low...different story

As previously stated. #1 Taking a running start and running into an object in an attempt to movie it is not smart. YouTube is full of disasters with something chained and the operator "takes a run at it". #2 Follow the operator's manual on what range to use. #3 it's a 2050 lawn tractor, not a D9 Cat crawler.

I wouldn't go ramming things to hard. There have reports on this forum about having done that and parts of the loader pivot points bending. It not a bulldozer.

I cringe when I hear the words ramming with my tractor loader. I have seen bad things first hand from someone (not me) trying to ram a tree over. Bent his main frame and damaged loader pins etc.

Can break the cast housing where the loader bolts go in too.

Is everyone talking about "ramming" with the bucket thinking that's what i did ? I never once said nor implied I rammed anything

I can attest that ramming something WILL bend stuff ! I was coming back out of the woods with my grapple on ,I was carrying the empty grapple about a foot off the ground, moving to fast and caught a tree stump with the lower left corner of the grapple. Because of my carelessness I now have a set of arms that are about 1.5 inches lower on the left than the right and the boom section between the bucket pivot pin and the linkage pin is also buckled and bent.
Moral of the story,
You want to push big stuff down , buy a dozer.

Cvcman I agree! This topic has gone the wrong way! I thought this was going to be and informational thread. I'm new to this tractor world (360hrs on my ls) and feel I should have a little more power to the wheels, even in low. Let's not turn this into a lecture thread!
