This was how I spent my Saturday morning not long ago. Yes that is a black leopard "kitty". As many of you may know, we are cat people, love them all, big and small. This one comes from a refuge in Indiana where about 170 cats live out life in as close to natural suroundings as possible. This particular cat was confiscated as an illegal owner had bought her from an illegal breeder.

I wanted to bring it home to meet the other kitties we have.

I don't know where you are in Indiana , but you may have heard of my classmates place of refuge for wild animals called Heavens Corner just into Ohio. He has all kinds of cats, bears, alligators and other stuff too. He is also less than a mile from my house. The sad thing is i have never been there. But, i'm taking my granddaughter there when the weather gets a little nicer.

His name is Kord Mcguire. His phone number is 937-839-5005
I believe his place is called Heavens Corner at 385 quinn rd., West Alexandria, ohio, 45381
You can call him and tell him who you are and hopefully you can see it. He has been in the Dayton paper and actually his place is pretty well known, so i was surprised you hadn't heard of him. His place is almost in my back yard, so if you do come out to see it let me know and i'll try to meet you.

EDIT, I just found this on the internet.

I take it you volunteer at the rescue if they let you take the kitty home for the weekend.

There is a big cat rescue near Spokane WA that we have had some dealings with. If we get a horse in that is beyond rehabilitation (and able to make the 6hr trip), we ship them to Cat Tails for disposal. Some might think it's a little callous but my wife feels at least she's helping other neglected/abused animals. It's always a heavy decision for her, one she makes only after extensive discussions with the board and Vet.

Thanks so much. No I had not heard of this place, but have put it in my fav's and will visit when time allows.

I dont volunteer there yet, but we are trying to get on board. they dont know I have a tractor and backhoe yet, so that may help them at some time.

I have not heard of this one in Spokane either. The one we are visiting as much as possible gets lots of farm animals that have expired. They got 3 cows, a calf, and a horse when we were there last time. That was about one to two days of feed, not counting the 2500 lbs of chicken they buy every month. With nearly 170 cats this place needs all it can get.

Alex looks a lot like the stray that showed up here. She is still really young. Probably only about a year old. I thought she would be a nice cat, but so far she is proving to be the most evil animal. lol I played some lion sounds and I think she understood them. She jumped up on the counter for the first time. The subwoofer helps "improve" the lion sounds. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Can I bring my 2 big dogs over to your house for supper? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The black cat, Zak, managed to pin the FIL's 90lb lab into the corner once, so I am not in too much fear of him taking care of himself. He goes about 18lb. He's our watch cat. The noises that come out of him when there's someone at the door can be truly frightening. LOL

The other, Alex, is a very efficient stealth machine. I truly think that he can become invisible. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

2 dogs would be too much for her in one meal, maybe breakfast and dinner

that cat is a leopard, but you know that.
We have 7 inside, 4 outside. One of the ones we have inside was raised by us from 2 weeks old. bottle, dropper, rice bags for warmth, make him poop and all. he is spoiled as you can guess.

the rest were a bit older but all our like our kids now, since we have empty nest syndrome and love it.
