I have no need for a locking gas cap, I just park my truck in a fenced in area where a few loyal and protective dogs sleep! And inside sleeps several large caliber firearms!

So in reality we, the citizens are donating our money to help them (which is good), but it comes though the gas business and they look good. And I am sure they get it all back in the end of the year.

I will say this, the people of the USA are donating a lot of money here via our gas profits, red cross, church donations, standing out on our city streets and asking, via online; again which is great.

But on the flip side why not have Halliburton for example, send there profits for 6 months (aka our taxes) or better yet, stop the Space Program funds till 2008 or 2010 (when old shuttle is retired) now and use those billions instead of spending it on rocks and paperwork?

It is only a matter of time before this country “pops”.

Yea I agree, I would like to see the space program money go to someting usefull.

It was 2.5-3.00 over everyone else, I believe they are going to be hit with the fines. They are talking about $5000 per customer they screwed.

GOOD!!! The stations in my home town have raised $1.11 per gallon in the last 24 hours. Early yesterday morning our prices were $2.58 per gallon. Right now they are $3.69 for the same low octane unleaded. I think there is a bit of price gouging going on here.

I don't know what it is here this morning, yesterday at NOON(the last time i was out) it was $2.98 ) probably way over that now.

As an interesting side note, while most stations are selling gasoline between $3.099 and $3.279 per gallon around here, there are a couple who are only at $2.999.

These stations have the older type pumps with the numbers on rolling drums (I don't know what they are really called), and their display only goes to $2.999...

Ohio law prohibits gas stations from charging more than the price on the pump, so they either have to buy new pumps, charge only $2.999, or stop selling gasoline as one station by my house has done.

Here in ky the older pumps are set at 1.54 per gallon and there are instructions that the purchase price is doubled when paying.

The interesting thing is these instructions aren't written on a piece of paper but are preprinted decals that the stations have already been supplied with.


BTW gas here where I live is 3.29 with a 20 gallon maximum and you can't get diesel locally. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
