Sounds like good, experienced advice.
when I asked him about a turbo version TYM , he kind of skipped over it by saying the fuel system is so basic that is what is causing the issues, which I cannot understand. the closest dealer to me sells a lot of TYM to surrounding areas, that are close in elevation, not sure he sold any in my area. I never asked him specifically but when I asked him about elevation he said I for sure wanted the turbo 574 and didn't hesitate.

I see a lot more posts about regen issues on the LS units here, than I do with TYM. YMMV

Have you inquired or considered about the 5520 instead? The 4 digit models, former Branson models, are much better built all around. Specially in the front axle as I'll show in the picture attached. The T474 and T574 have problematic front axles.

You also get a 4 range transmission version 3. Stronger and thicker castings all around. Sturdy controls. It has the same turbocharged engine as the T574.

It's not because I have own one but because I've compared them several times side by side and analyzed the workshop manuals of both brands. The former Branson models are really well built.

This picture compares the front axles on the XX15 series vs the T474. Same happens in the XX20 series vs the T574. Another one is the use of ball bearings on the rear axle while the former Branson models use tapered roller bearings as it should be on such axle.

I have looked at the 5520, but when I speak to dealers they push me to the 574, none have said anything bad about the 5520, but none have suggested it when I speak to what I want and will do with the tractor.. but this is why I joined this forum. I dont know anything about tractors, as a buyer im trying to learn , I look at older JD 5210 with 1300 hours, ($28k)and then study reviews and read one review from a guy that says the tractor is useless when it freezes, because e the shift lever is inoperable. is that a isolated incident? idk, I do know that I will need to plow snow or feed when it is -30f outside. and will need what ever tractor I purchase be able to function. I will get a block heater for it for sure.

I do agree. The construction of the axles, bearings and housings is night and day. There was a thread here detailing the design of the front axles, due to failures. The **20 series tractors are built more heavy duty in the drivetrain, and the 4 range transmission is beautiful

I also really doubt many TYM dealers know the internal differences in the tractors. They are comparing visible options and controls, not construction

I was comparing the 2 models side by side, some big differences I see
same hp but different engines
574-tymt2300t2
5520-tym a2300t11
pto hp is the same 44.7/44

574 stats
PTO type independent
PTO Control Electric Hydro
hydraulics
dual gear pump
implement flow7.7gpm
steaming flow 4.3gpm
totally flow 11.9gpm
category 1 3pt hitch
hitch lift 3822lb
std remotes 2
overall tractor weght with cab 4233lb

FEL TX57
lift capacity 2790lb
bucket capacity 11.3cf
FEL Total weight 1120lb

5520 stats
PTO type independent
PTO Control Wet mulit disc
Hydraulics
single gear pump
implement flow 4.4gpm
steering flow 9.3gpm
total flow 13.7gpm
category I hitch 3pt
hitch lift 3306Lb
std remote valves 4 port

FEL (BL200c)
lift capacity 2701lb
bucket capacity 9.5cf
FEL total weight 1075lbs

cycle times are much faster with the 5520 FEL almost twice as fast as the 574 FEL

with that said if the front ends are that much better on the 5520 seems I would be better off with the 5520 if I were to choose a TYM

The T474 doesn't appear to have much front end problems (compared to T574), but if I were you I'd look for a 4820 if I wanted 48Hp engine and a 5520 if you wanted a 55Hp tractor. THe legacy Branson models are really well built.

maybe the 574 is being used for heavier lifting wearing out the front end? but ya im looking at the 5520 now instead of the 574, ive also started looking at the t654 if I can find a good used one I would be interested in it as well

Yes, I've seen T754's down to 35K, and I almost jumped on that one even tho I don't need that big of a tractor.
