I meant what Kubota is the biggest seller.

I heard some where the BX was the biggest seller as well but not sure.

Sorry I was not clear.

So how is the BX treating you? I know you were concerned about some of the BX's quality issues. I sold my L3830 yesterday. BX or B or some other color to consider.

I got rid of the BX-let's just say I was not happy with it.

I replaced it with a B7800. Appears to be a much better fit for me. Very nice unit.

Group,
As a NH dealer, I receive those numbers as part of my market share report. The breakouts are by total counts with my numbers as percentages. Something like 100 sold in the industry, I sold 25, so I had 25% market share for that period. It does not break out by manufacturer or model but it does break out by horsepower range so if you study it close enough, you can pretty much figure out who is selling what and where. Also, you are usually given an opportunity for that business as the customer shops around.

Kubota does have a very large share of the market and it can be contributed simply to price. They are most often the cheapest on the market and if the customer is sensitive about monthly payment and the tractor will still do the job, then why would he pay more than he had to. Simple budget economics.

If this is true, they why doesn't "Farm King" or "Ching Chong Tractor Company International" sell a staggering amount of tractors?

The simple reason that Kubota kicks the crap out of all the other tractor companies is simply because they "deliver more value". By and large (obviously local factors influence this) they offer top notch quality, stand behind their product, offer every feature that anyone else does, and do it at a price thats substantialy less than NH and Deere - and only marginly more than the 3rd tier brands. Personaly, I don't see this changing any time soon. Given that Kubota's new products continualy sell really, really well I can only see their market share growing in the consumer, commercial and industrial spaces. Small companies can't compete with the level of engineering and sales volumes, big companies can't do it simply because they are too fat and stuck in business model from 40 years ago.

I'm pretty sure the Chinese ARE selling staggering amounts of tractors. And if the quality does'nt pick up on the big 3 they will sneak up and surprise them. Just my opinion.

I won't buy one unless the quality on the Chinese tractors picks up substantially or the quality of the "big three" drops dramatically. Either way, besides having a well made tractor with great parts inventories around the world, I also have some pride in ownership.

I don't sell Kubota's, but I drive one on the weekends, so I don't know a lot about anything "tractor" related. However, I can ask (what I feel) is a legitimate question. Why are the engines of smaller (non-ag) tractors from NH, CASE, JD, MF etc., made in Japan and not by the parent company? Kubota doesn't sell there tractors with engines made in the USA...

Am I making any sense here? Somebody please explain this to me as I am ignorant to the reason.
