They are most often the cheapest on the market and if the customer is sensitive about monthly payment and the tractor will still do the job, then why would he pay more than he had to. I looked very hard at JD and NH before I finally decided to go with Kubota. My last tractor cost me about $2k just to get rid of so when I say I looked hard at the competition-I mean I looked REALLY HARD!
I went back to Kubota because the B7800 fit better under my orchard trees and the HP was there to go up a steep hill. The dealer had to work his rear off to get my business but he was successful.
JD's product was a great fit but under powered. The 955 would have been perefect, but I also wish I had purchased MS stock in the 80s...
Your NH tractors were more expensive. About 20%+ more expensive. I had great experience with my Grand "L", the B7800 is tested hard in the field and is successful, my Kubota dealer is great, so I limited my exposure and went with a known element at, yes, a less expensive price.
