Hitch drop

/ Hitch drop #23
anyone ever use or have experiance with the adjustable type?

I have 2 of this style. They can be used to lower or raise the ball height.
The first one measures an 8" drop from the top of the hitch and will raise or lower the ball position by about 4-6 inches from center. I've used this type hitch with and without load leveling bars.
The second one is a little longer (10") and will raise or lower ball position about 6-8".
I have a tri ball that goes in the receiver with 1 7/8, 2, and 2 5/16" balls.
I bought them years ago when I had a lifted truck and needed an 8" drop.
Two of my trailers use a 2 5/16" ball and only require about a 2" drop. Another small 6 x 8 trailer uses 1 7/8" ball. I couldn't see installing a 2 5/16" hitch on that trailer.
I have a wide selection of slide in hitches of various heights besides what is pictured that I use on the truck and tractor.

I have a similar one to your pic...handy to have but I hate it for normal towing- rattles like crazy with the extra pins etc...
I leave it in the truck for any unplanned trailer encounter-
