I always want to say, your attention to detail and quality is commendable. The little things that most observers wouldn't even see. You are definitely a Fabricator and Craftsman. :)

72v,

12 batteries divided into 2 banks. I can select left bank, right bank or both. I am using these batteries:

UPG27 AGM Battery

I am still not sure of capacity because I have not tested the batteries that hard. I might have been able to get away with 6 for what I do. * It certainly would have been a lot lighter*

This is the motor:

D&D ES-15-6 Motor

This is the controller:

Alltrax AXE7245 Motor Controller

There is a large relay to turn the motor on and a reversing relay setup which uses 2 relays for reversing.

Input to the controller has a couple options for the potentiometer/gas pedal. Ironically I have a 10k pot put in the gas pedal but the gas pedal travel only moves it a fraction of that and I was able to select the potentiometer in the controller for the range I have. If anyone has more questions on this I would be happy to help.

Keep in mind when I started with the electric motor I knew nothing and still know only what I figured out!

I will send photos as I use it. I just got it done so it will be as things come up. I have a laser metal cutting shop with my neighbor next door and I run back and forth with a lot of stuff from time to time. Literally across a field from the shop to my place. I am always hauling welders/tanks and projects back and forth. With the old Cushman it has helped me service the tractor from time to time. On one occasion I cut a valve stem on the large tractor tire on a Ford 8N. I ran jacks and tools out to the tractor, pulled the tire off and was able to lay it flat across the bed by myself, take it back to the shop, got a new valve stem put in, aired back up and was going again an hour latter.

These and yard work are my typical missions. Last week I just hauled a scrap small block Chevy engine over to the scrap bin with it.

Here was something else I used it for. I have a trailer I move around; some times to my shed which does not have a path to other then grass. It is awe full handy in moving the trailer around. When I am not using it I like to keep it in a shed. Sunlight and weather can really "weather" these:

Here is a more recent photo. I put a jib crane on it from Harbor Freight. The Jim crane is dropped in on a vertically mounted receiver for a trailer hitch which makes it easy and quick to remove.

I'd really like to hear how those batteries work out for you long-term. Please keep us posted. I have a Polaris Ranger EV that currently has "rebuilt" group 31 flooded lead-acid batteries, that I believe are used mostly in electric forklifts. Not expecting a lot of range or life out of them. I have a notion to convert it to lithium-ion ($$$$), but a good AGM set might be just the ticket while I wait for Li-I prices to descend some. REALLY don't want to spend over $200 ea. for Polaris/US Battery OEM replacements!

I would like to get the UTV (not ATV) manufacturers to pick up on the usefulness of a vehicle which is more like a truck then a trail vehicle.

Isn't that what a Kubota is? Diesel. Why go with electric? I am guessing this was not based on usefulness as UTV like a truck, but your beliefs.
