My prayers go out to you. I broke my collar bone when I was little. My brother broke his twice. Each time, we were thrown off of our Shetland pony, Salty. I don't remember if it hurt way back then. But I fell two months ago and my ribs hurt for weeks. Get feeling better and be careful. Got any Tequila? Tequiila is always good when hundered down, as you are now.
Do they make tire chains for ATVs?

Yes they do make tire chains for them and they are getting ordered. We never really needed chains until this last storm, but they certainly are cheap enough to have on hand just in case.
It's 0352 hrs and it's still raining, just looked at the radar and we have new snow coming in behind the rain....what a mess.
Actually as far as ribs go, what really hurts worse than a cracked one is to pop the cartilage off the end that attaches to the sternum:
I have done that before and unfortunately the reason I am up right now is that I got into a position where the lower right rib was rubbing/popping every time I took a breath. That one will take longer to heal because of that movement. The collar/shoulder joint is not near as bad as the ribs.

Man, I feel sorry for you. You will be out for weeks. This weather ain't helping either. Do you have any family nearby that can help with the cows?

As with any traumatic injury, day 3 is the worse...it was. I did have neighbors feeding my cows, and another that fixed my fence as soon as the flood receded....they are the best folks in the world!
Now, onto the extraction which happened today..........
As it looked before we started:
I used my HF 12,000 lb winch and put it on the class 3 hitch(also welded onto the box blade by me)that I had built a hitch hauler for:

NCMike is up on the bank to the left on the previous pic....there was still ice on the moss covered rocks:
We winched it up onto it's wheels, but the shattered ABS roof caught on the very tree that stopped me from plunging 75 more feet down into the holler. The guys wanted to cut that tree to free the UTV...I said, "NO WAY". So we used a chain saw to slice off the UTV roof instead:
Then we chained my Kodiak to a tree and used it's Viper winch to roll the Bulldog out onto the driveway. Having a remote control on the hF winch allowed me to pull on that winch line and keep it up on two uphill wheels in order to avoid a 2' stump that was in line with the direction we were pulling:
And out onto the driveway:
Here it is towed down to my shop. When I get a chance I will drain the oil, pull the plugs and turn the engine over to get all the oil out of the top end. Damage assessment: one roof, one RR fender, One windshield and one rear view mirror. All of the Bulldog parts are available on-line...I will post a total asap:
