Judge your own risks as appropriate, but I find the idea of a loaded gun in a house... unwise.

I won't tell you what is wise or unwise in your home, please provide me the same courtesy.

I took it as he was providing that courtesy...

I glad the story turned out the way it did, but whoever made the video needs to be flogged. He stated he had a PPK up too and during the first shooting at the front door. The video shows him with a Glock at 1:31, then a Beretta 92F at 1:34. He only used the Glock when he went outside after the PPk was empty. .........................It's the little things that bug me:cool:

If you do not want guns in your home don't have them, if you do not like guns do not use them but please do not inflict your views on those of us who do by saying it is offensive to you so something we say or have in our sig must be removed. That is not right and just wrong everyone is entitled to an opinion just do not force it on those who disagree by saying it is not politically correct or it offends you. Just like a TV show you do not like cut it off, you do not offend anyone that way

I would have let them break in, been ready and taken them both out in two clean shots. I wouldn't have opened the door to two people in hoodies. Good for him though, he is now an honored member of the neighborhood.

I was thinking about this when I went to bed last night. It's about the law of unintended consequences. So some lunatic starts shooting up a theatre. You just happen to have your Glock with you and take him out. Someone who happens to have their Baretta with them, really hasn't seen what has happened, but only saw you shoot someone, so bang, he shoots you, and maybe someone shoots him. Sometimes you have to carry your thinking a little farther I guess.

In the seventies when hijacking was in style, Archie Bunker once voiced his idea that they hand out guns to all the passengers. I always thought that was brilliant! Even if one plane shot full of holes crashes, it's worth it, because no Hi Jacker (Of that era anyway) would try that again.

Everyone in our society has to suffer and live in fear because we are afraid that a very few will die by accident!

I trust myself, I don't trust others. If every time I went to town I felt I was surrounded by gun carrying people, I probably would stop going. I don't like it when even a cop walks around with his. Arming everybody would produce fear- I'd be surrounded with a bunch of strangers- who knows what kind of day they are having, how close to their fuse they are. The ex-cop in the movies- couldn't contain it any longer. No thanks. "Joe" needs to leave his gun in the car, or at home if he is not wrapped tightly that day.

My observation is you have an affliction called Hoplophobia. You should seek help.

Shrug. I know that my children have hurt themselves with "harmless" things found in the house (my son broke his arm when the cardboard box he was playing in tipped over, before that he pulled a barstool down on this head, requiring stitches...), whereas no one has ever tried to invade my house. Judge your own risks as appropriate, but I find the idea of a loaded gun in a house... unwise.

I am all for outlawing cardboard boxes in Canada!

My personal phobia is fear of people who wants to outlaw my guns.
I prefer if they stay home and stay out of my life
