Here in the Ohio Valley we would call that a mobile ice shanty with air conditioning. Just cut 2 round holes in the bottom and drive it over the frozen pond!

Nice work.... /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

What a great rig! That thing looks like it can vacuum anything! I have wayyy too many black walnuts falling around here. The lawn sweep just passes over them. Makes a mess out of everything. Do you think a machine like yours would pull up something like those walnuts? If I don't find a way to clean the area up, I'll be taking down a lot of walnut trees next year!

Black walnuts no problem, that is why I made this. All the trees but two are nut trees the hammer mill blower has a cast iron housing but still better to mow over the first, hole black walnut sound like a rock when hole.

Would like to know how to get these black walnuts to an edible situation. That rind yellow rind is tough. What method is there to get to the meat? If it's worthwhile, I may leave a few of them around.

I made a 16' long just the as wide as rear tire on lawn tractor trough out of 2X4 (this is a little messy did in drive way wife had 10 cows) them run back and forth over them to brake up the yellow rind. I then put it in my cement mixer with rock cips (screened thought a 1/2 hardware cloth) turn on and let the rock cleen the nut about 2 hours it good and dry then dump mix on to hardware cloth cleen Black wallnuts. then I use my pipe vice to crack. Hope this helps and the sooner the better, black wallnuts get stonger the longer that yellow rind is on.

We'd spread them out in the loft of the hog pen, after a year or two the hulls came right off. There were more than one year's worth up there which is why I'm not too sure of the time span. Two small boys, a hammer and an anvil, is about the easiest way I know of to crack them. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Worked for my granddad, when I was the small boy. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Hmmm, let's see, I need either a trough with ten cows, or a pen full of hogs. The grandson's so far are about all I can come up with. To tell the truth, I think the cows and hogs might be a bit easier to get done than tryin' to get those boy's to sit down with a hammer without clankin' each other! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
