Bucket Hooks Hooks on FEL

Hmmm. I didn't think about that. I think my two good chains are 3/8. No big deal. The big ones stay in my truck. I can get some 5/16 chain for lifting purposes.

I only use 3/8 chain, but like Kenny says it is overkill for alot of everday tasks.

Lowes has a great deal on 5/16 grade 70 chain. 20 feet with grab hooks for only $35.00

I think I'm gonna grab one for myself. G70 5/16" chain has a working load limit of 4,700 lbs

Old post alert:

There is "Bolt on Grab Hooks" now available for sale:

Bolt on Grab Hooks

Are you the one making the hooks? - Why bring up an old post?

When you ask this member two times in two different threads about bringing up old posts?:confused2:

Not trying to start an argument- just saying its not fair to the other member.

Rated for more than my tractor weighs.

I just used an ordinary grab hook and bolt on the Allied 195 loader on my L275DT. Sorry for the fuzzy picture. It is an old one and I don't have the tractor anymore (Kioti DK35 delivered last Saturday).

I used fender washers on each side of the bucket and the nut attaches to the bolt between the clevis part of the grab hook. The bolt continues up to the top hole of the clevis.

As a side note. I took my 3pt carry all and use it for a set of hooks on my front loader from time to time. I took a eye hook ( a casted type ) and mounted it on the top of my bucket where the metal curls back, right in center of it. I move the bucket in place to where the eye hook goes into the top link connection. I use a top link pin through it. With that being said it did swing back and forth. Originally I used a ratchet strap to keep the carry all from swinging side to side. After using this a couple of times I welded a piece of angle iron on the back of the carry all and it goes under the bottom edge of the bucket to stabilize it. I don't use it very often and the main thing it was built for was to raise up bundles of shingles on to the scaffolding. The bucket will only raise about 3 bundles at a time with the carry all on the front of it but it works for me.

Kenny, I got them today. They look great! And either they work with 3/8 inch chain or I have 5/16 inch chain and always thought I had 3/8. Anyway, very pleased with the product and service.

Thanks George! I think they may work also with 3/8" chain, I need to get to TSC to verify for myself also.

I'm not sure about Kennys, but I just bought that 5/16 chain from Lowe's I was referring to and yes the 5/16 hook does fit 3/8 chain and vice versa.

That G 70, 5/16 chain from Lowe's is pretty decent, actually says made in USA, Got 20 ft with G70 grab hooks for less than 30 bucks with a coupon :) that's only 1.5 dollars a foot. Their cheap/ lower rated G43 bulk chain is $3. per foot/ no hooks.

It says "towing chain, not for overhead lifting" but no chain is rated for overhead lifting until you go up to G80 alloy. I wouldn't use it for binding my machine down on the equipment trailer, even though it is rated high enough to, but it's perfect for pulling a log out of the woods.

Had some 3" structural channel welded on w/ grab hooks and a receiver tube. I found the channel from my local steel supplier; the weld-on grab hooks from my local Kubota dealer, and receiver tube from Amazon.com. I'll prime and paint it tomorrow.
