Looks great! Can't wait to see the pics of the finished product. I'll bet all those lights are going to be a sight to see.

I am curious Harv, are you using the same powdercoater who did the fence project? I was thinking you ended up disappointed with their production speed. Just curious.

Great job by the way! If it were mine, I would have had a solid 6" strip between the bed and the chainlinks to keep small stuff on the bed, but since its not me footing the bill I guess I have no say! Always amazed by your work. You are an artiste!

Yesterday I got one light wired up and installed. The second one is about a third complete before installation. There are almost three hundred connections in each light. It's tough. But the results are worth the effort.

We decided to use flat plugs to connect the wiring to the removable light plates. This allows any maintenance to be done on a bench.

It's one thing to see a vision of your own come into focus but it is another to watch someone else experience it. Client is 75 and he has had this idea of a Texas tail light for years. Yesterday when I plugged in the fuses and asked him to start up the truck and test the lights in the rear bumper and the left headache rack it was a special moment to see him actually see it for the first time. He had a grin on his face that you can't take off with a jackhammer.

He's taking the truck to the rodeo in Vegas and he swears the boys with more buckle than brains will drool all over themselves when they see it. I told him headache racks with the Texas lights will start just south of $10,000.00 if they are interested.

The camera located in the middle of the ramps cover works awesome. We still have to hook up the back up sensors, the holes between the lights. We made the bed to wrap around and incorporate the original hitch area because there is so much stuff there that would be tough to duplicate. I'll get some shots of that detail today when we load up the Razr. I want him to haul it around for a couple of days to see how the bed holds up with the load.

One of the interesting complications on this project is the truck is a towed. It is plumbed for the air brakes on the Peterbuilt. It is also wired with diodes for the lights. The diodes will be done by others. They did an awesome job on the stock bed. So I had to set up a board underneath that is the only point of contact for them. I hope they appreciate the effort.

Din't know you were an electrical engineer too. At least you got to spend 1 of these dog days of summer in the shade. :)

Nice work. Also nice to have an appreciative customer that you can work with

Cheers, Terry

Wow. Tell the customer not to drive it to Minnesota. It won't last thru one winter. By January you'd be lucky to have one "lone star" still lit.
