One thing I'm often reminded of... Personal finance, is personal.

For instance... I truly find joy in carrying $0 of debt. I'm well aware of leverage. I make choices to not use it. It's a personal decision. My family has flourished in spite of that decision.

I have close friends who make WILDLY different choices and who have different values. If they ASK me for my opinion or guidance, I'll give it... Otherwise I don't. I also don't brag about my success to make them feel small. All they know is that I am 48 and retired. And they only know that because I never go to work They don't know how, or why... And I don't feel compelled to share it with them, unless they ask and are truly interested. Spoiler... Nobody cares about your money or what you do . Not in the least. My best friends don't know how we achieved it, and they don't ask, so I don't feel the need to put it out there.

I've never had a problem making money except it's getting harder to find silk thread paper and cutting them to 6.14 by 2.61 inches is a real challenge.

I will not go in debt for anything that I don't have the money to pay off instantly.

Same here.. except for the one exception being housing. I bought my present home, and previous house through mortgage companies. They were both beyond my cash at the time, but I believe with a house and property you’re going to live with for years, and with house and property appreciation rates, it’s better to go for the gold and buy your dream home, not wait, or settle for a cheaper home.
Like they say, they’re not making any more land.
I paid off both mortgages ASAP, and got back to market investing
