how dealers get mad customers

You were ROBBED is right! I had 2 hoses 3' each with 1/2" NPT fittings crimped....$30 for both. Your six footers should cost about $20-$25 each. Like said above, get two made that fit and take those back to the dealer and get your money back. Show him the receipt for the others.
It's just sad to hear stuff like that.

There is a huge cost difference between different types of couplers and hoses. Some of the high flow skid loader couplers can be $25+ea. Hose prices vary widly depending if its single or duel wire. That being said, $300 sounds way out there.

I would go by and speak with the dealer or the parts department. There has to be something wrong given the price on the bill.

That's too high.

I had two 48" long, 1/4" diameter 4200lb hydraulic hoses made. Including the fittings, it cost me around $45.00.

Sorry to hear that you got ripped off...I'd pay him a visit.

So did you have the hoses made in Long Island or Vt?

I think you should heed the other posts...go to NAPA & have them made & return the originals & have a party. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

jpm, I'm dying to hear how this one turns out. I agree with everyone that something seems WAY out of line with that price, no matter WHAT kinds of fittings those hoses had on them.

I had these made in vt by the dealer i purchased the tractor from,
who knows i know the price of hyd.hose because my family owns
NAPA stores . List price of 06 hyd. is $5.92 he charged me $10.98
per foot same on the fittings ect. What i am amazed at is i've seen this in the automotive trade and they are shock that the customer knows they were screwed. Now he will be upset when i'm going to beat him up on every possible sale. That crappy flatlander attitude

I picked up two 1/2" X 36" hoses today for a loader I'm working on. I paid $22.95 each. (at my friendly neighborhood NAPA store no less! ) Your dealer must have a house payment due this week. WOW!

There may have been an honest mistake made by the dealer. Ask him before you accuse him of hosing you down.

Wonder if your tractor dealer shops at the family owned NAPA dealer? One good turn deserves another.
