How did you first discover Kubota?

I bought my first Kubota (a (G1800) in 1995 with 173 hours on it, it now has a bit over 500 and is still working great. I'd done a bit of research and Kubota quality won me over.

I bought it from one of two local dealers (one rural and one in the city) and had great service. I decided to buy a B26 and though I'd try the other, city dealer. I arrived in a shirt and tie after work and I could tell right off the salesman wasn't interested in the city slicker standing in front of him.

Oh well says I and bought my B26 the next day from the rural dealer. I then wanted a G11000 generator a year later but the rural guy didn't carry the Kubota line of generators. I (reluctantly) went back to the city dealer but came across another salesman (this time I didn't come wearing a tie!) Anyway, the sale went great and I did manage to drop the story of the first salesman's poor attitude a few times into the conversation. He didn't say a lot but nodded when I told him the first guy lost a $30k+ sale simply because he thought I was wasting his time.

I won't say who was the city dealer was but the rural dealer was Carri駻e Poirier Equipment Ltd. in Alfred, Ontario. Great people, good prices and outstanding service :thumbsup:e.

Lucked onto a clean used (15 years old, but only 600 hours) B8200 with a post hole auger... what I needed at the time, my first tractor ("lucked" because I didn't know squat about tractors) and found it to be a reliable and very well made tractor. The rest is my history. Looked at Deere, but always came away with another Kubota.

About 1979 we rented a B7100 to fill in a hole for a swimming pool and rototill a back yard, the B7100 was the only thing small enough to fit between fence and house. Got a MF35 in 2002 and the Kubota GL3130GST in 2005 and then the rest just followed me home.

Want a real laugh? I just replied a couple posts ago with my story and just learned I'm the original poster of this thread from eight years ago. I just answered my own question...twice.

Lol, it happens.

Funny thing is when I first found this forum years ago and started planning to buy my first compact tractor, I ruled Kubota out. I thought they were just another cheap off shore tractor. I really wanted a Massey or JD. But Massey dealers are too far from me, and I got turned off from JD after reading thread after thread of the same reoccurring problems with the 2000 series.
So I went to my local JD/Kubota dealer to have a look. Ended up buying my B2620 as soon as I drove one around the lot. Now I look at nothing but Kubota.
(although I still like Massey's too.)

Mother Earth News. Had a ad showing a little 4 wheel drive B model. Waited four years until I was out of school and bought a L from a JD dealer.

Wonder if there are any Kubota/Deere dealers left.

Yeah apparently Deere has gotten pretty snippy with their dealers on carrying other brands. Around here there is a lot more green than orange, and Deere likes it that way. There was one Deere/Kubota dealer in New Richmond WI a few years back. I drove out there one day and it was Deere only. Was told they got an ultimatum from the Green Boys..."Them or us. Not both." Every time I look at features vs prices for Green and Orange, Orange always seemed to come out on top. I was a bit shocked how much green they wanted for Greene... :D

A friend has a JD 419 and after borrowing it a couple times I knew I needed my own tractor. Looked at new and used and was fortunate enough to come across a 2006 B3030 with 242 hours in great shape. The bota in my opinion has some nicer features than my buddies Deere. So far I'm more than happy with my decision!!!

I know this is an old post that has reappeared but my story is I first went to the JD dealer(which I like) second NH dealer and last the Kubota.I feel I got the most tractor for the money buying my L3130 and since have purchased a L4240 HSTC,lots of implements from my Kubota dealer. They have been great to work with.
Not knocking the others for sure;we own JD mowers and quite pleased with them and the service;my son purchase a used L3000 from the NH dealer and they have been fine also.

The only Deere Kubota Dealer I know got the same letter and booted Deere.

It is up in the Gold Rush country of the Sierra Nevada
