Buddy of mine has 3 of em in his store, his bag corn doesn't run thru the register, cause it's farm produce. The other day, a customer bought 3 bags @ $4.50 per bag. The kids needed a calculator. While they were looking for it, I said $13.50.
The one kid looks at the other, and says, "See, they taught math when he went to school". The sad part is these were the smarter kids who applied for jobs.
The situation is downright frightening, these kids have absolutely NO math skills, so they don't know if the answer the calculator came up with is right or not. They also can't lay out a right angle with a ruler, and they can't even read a ruler cause they have No concept of fractions. My buddy who teaches HVAC had to bring in a remedial teacher to teach Juniors in High School how to read a ruler.
