How do you adjust a hydraulic valve?

I can't imagine that either. There's usually an unloading valve that allows much more flow.
I admittedly don't know much about more modern tractor hyd systems, but on the older ones, when position is reached, system switches over to low pressure. There would only be a constant pressure if serious lift piston leakby was involved. A major case of hiccups in other words. Also when max height on pos control is reached it also switches to low pressure. If pos control is out of time with rockshaft, screwy things like mentioned on this thread happen.
Does your loader struggle to maintain position also? This is all quite interesting and I wonder at the design of it if not malfunctioning.

No, my loader doesn't struggle. It actually works quite well and is very fast as long as the 3pt doesn't come into play. When I first got the tractor, I had a limb knock the 3pt lever in the up position. I thought I had broke my tractor. I looked and looked. I figured it out on the way back to the house.

To clarify, the 3pt hitch on this tractor is not modern. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif It is a cost reduced implementation. It is not a position control lift. Your description matches what I have seen of position control. This is more like a spool valve with no return to center and no cancel. I know, don't ask me. I can't believe they saved that much money. It is usable once you get use to it. If you never used PC, you probably wouldn't notice.

WhiteRock,

I thought on tractors without position control there was a linkage to return the 3PH lever to center when the hitch reached top position.

I know on my BX this happens (at least most, if not all the time).

Actually the BX manual states: "Hydraulic control lever is automatically returned to neutral position when the implement is raised at top position or down at lowest position."

I would suspect that your tractor (I know it's not a BX, but still should work the same I think) needs a minor adjustment to the linkage

I goofed in not remembering your loader ran off a separate valve. From the symptoms it sounded like it was run from remote banks.

Henro, then is it safe to say Junkman's (BX22) lift is same as yours and could possibly be maladjusted also and creating the constant system pressure?

I guess that could be a possible explanation for why Junk measured such a high pressure...

But knowing how much effort Junkman puts into keeping his tractor and other equipment in top operating condition (impression I get from reading his posts) I would doubt that to be the reason.

Now if the lift lever were somehow moved into the raise position, and something kept the hitch from raising all the way to the point where the linkage would shift the lever back to neutral, that could have the same affect...

I guess we'll have to wait for a response from him on that one. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

All levers were in there neutral position. My 3 pt hitch lever always returns to the neutral position and my loader valve has never had any problems associated with it. This is as puzzling to me as it is to you. When warmer weather arrives, if it ever arrives, I will put the loader back on the tractor and then take readings again. As for anything being maladjusted, I don't believe that anything on the tractor is maladjusted, other than me..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

When I tested my iseki TL3200 tph pressure I had a two bottom plow on it. My pressure with the plow sitting on the ground 500lbs less. With plow raised up and the engine at full speed was 1000lbs and at idle it is 700lbs. This is what I found tonight when I retested it....Larry

Does your tractor have position control 3pt hitch?

Yes but i dont know how to use it. I have not had time to play with it....Larry
