How do you fuel your tractor (logistics, not finding the cap to the tank)?

I have been using a plastic herbicide drum for years. Started with an oil barrel pump (up and down), then a cheap rotary pump. A couple weeks ago I found a 12 volt 8 gpm pump at TSC made for diesel, kerosene or mineral spirits. They had it on sale for $50.00. It works great.

Wow I wish they would have that sale again. Those pumps are really expensive regularly!

Coming home yesterday I saw a suburban with a 2 x 5 wire mesh receiver platform attached to the rear trailer hitch.

I counted 5 of those large off road fuel jugs lashed to back...

So maybe 25 gallons of fuel that would be the first point of impact in a rear end collision?

You're the first person I've heard that liked the new no-spill style nozzles. Maybe it's political with them (EPA, CARB-compliant), or maybe it was a different less quality nozzle. I'm going to need some replacement cans soon so I'll give them a second look.

The 'No Spill' brand are different than the rest.

Better built, made in USA, and much easier to use than any of the others.
I've replaced all the cans I had with No-Spill brand cans. They are not cheap
but worth it. I don't use enough to justify a 100 gallon tank or even a 55 Gal.
drum with a hand pump. I guess I could get a 250 gallon tank and buy road
diesel and use it in the truck too, but that would make fueling the truck a PITA
since its not kept at the same location as the tractors, they are 6 miles apart.

My problem is lifting the can up. I have real problems with the weight. I am going to have to go to a transfer pump setup of some kind pretty soon.

As to that no spill thing, no thanks. The little plastic thingy he gripes about big deal....cut the stupid thing off. But the drippage.....not good.

Agree with this. Anyone else out there with this type of can that's experiencing the leak problem?

Thanks for the vid... I have the first generation of No-Spill without the childproof lock and have nothing but praise for them.

Mine are Honda Co-Branded because I bought them at the Honda Mower Shop.

It would seem the latest generation with the child proof cap could lose the neck ring and be just like the one I have.

Even on prescription meds you can request non-child proof caps right?

My No-Spill doesn't have the childproof nonsense either, and it works perfectly. I'm gonna order another one. If I get one with the childproof setup, I'll just send it back.

Is there any chance the childproof version is a California-only version?

And has anybody tried taking the childproof bottom piece off and just screwing the lid down without that part on there?

I'm thinking no... they are probably all the same is my guess.

I looked at my brother's yesterday and it looks like his is the childproof missing the neck ring?

He was away so I didn't have the chance to ask him.

We can send a man to the moon and can't build a simple gas can... oh wait, we did build em once upon a time!

I took a 50 gallon rectangular fuel tank from a bob truck, mounted a 12 volt fill-rite pump to it I bought at a farm sale for 20 bucks. I left the tank mounted to the frame holder that came off the truck, that allows me to use my forks to load and unload the tank from a truck bed or trailer ect. I keep it setting on a furniture dolly in the shop and just roll it over to the tractor when needed.

Finally remembered to get a couple pics
