how do you get a tractor unstuck?

Yep usually with something a little bigger. For some reason a SCUT and ATV that are both near the same (without all the extra hardware) 4wd the SCUT just ain't cut out for mud.

But in both cases when stuck the operator usually makes it worse by "trying" to get out. At the first sign of no movement...got get help. I know, then that takes all the fun out of it.

So far I only have gotten mine stuck once. Had the BB on the back trying to comb down the side of a ditch (it was all dry). The BB hung me up on one side and left the back wheels in the air. ATV would not get pull it. So the mext thing bigger was my truck...sitting on a nice paved road.

There is also a "trick" with the FEL and a chain. I had to use this when the tractor was to the belly stuck. Get a tow strap, cable, chain or what ever you have between yourself and something solid. Then curl the bucket on the fel so that you can curl it the other way and get some pull. You only go 12-24" at a crack, then you have to reset the chain, but it is a LOT faster and easier than the strong arm method.

Just be careful when getting yourself out. No sense getting stuck and injured all at once.

I've been fortunate not getting stuck (yet, knock on wood). My friend got his new tractor stuck twice in the first 4 hrs. of use in his back woods. He called me to help get it out. I keep plenty of chains, straps, and a 4 ton come-a-long in my truck. I took my tractor to his place and was able to just pull him out the first time with the tractor and a chain. The second time I used the chain and my truck since he was closer to the house and I already had my tractor loaded back on the trailer. Of course, I forgot to bring the camera. Oh well, I'll get a pic next time since its his first tractor and I'm sure it'll get stuck again. I'm also building a frame for my 9K winch. When I'm done I'll be able to plug it into either the front or rear 2" receiver on my tractor and use that.

Yea, I was tempted to get one of those electric ATV winches, but i didn't know what i would bolt it to. Does anyone know if they already make a winch frame you can inset into a 2'ball receiver? That would really work nice, if you had enough winching power.

No offense intended to anyone posting on this forum - honestly! - but I find big animated graphics really annoying. They are fun for the first 5 seconds but after that they are just a distraction.
