I am going to try that. Maybe I can show the wife I have some culinary skills after all.

Yes, do it, show her your talents. We used to do that all the time as kids.

Something new I heard was to pull them hot out of the water, make a small crack in the shell, and put in ice water. The crack lets water in as the egg contracts letting the shell separate better from the egg. I will second (or third) the old egg idea also...

Expansion / contraction Go from hot water to cold the egg will shrink more than the shell and that slight air space wil make peeling the eggs easier. to crack the shell roll on counter or in hands to make as many cracks in the shell as possible.

my experience - 10 years of peeling 40 to 60 boiled eggs a morning five days a week

I was pretty fast too!

I have done the East*76% Egg thing and will report on how well it worked. I used eggs at room temperature, I don't know how old the eggs are, the package says farm fresh so I suspect a couple of weeks. I put cold water in a big pot, added about a tablespoon of baking soda and slipped the grade AA large eggs in the low temp PH altered bath. Fired up the big burner, let it come to a boil, stopped the heat, put the lid on, let it sit for about 12 minutes and then cooled the whole thing down with dihydromonoxide. There was one shell with visible fracture or is it fissure lines, I suspect this egg may have come from Chile. I will have my 8 year old color the eggs and then after festivities, attempt the blow job on the egg as described in the video. If it works, that will be worth noting. I suspect we will then have shell free Easter (oops sorry there goes that easter word again) eggs as I cannot imagine my son letting the eggs sit there when something so cool awaits him. I will report back and thanks very much to those who helped and contributed with the exception of Moss who again gets no thanks whatsoever other than he did not close the post because I said Easter...

Casco1 is right on. Hot to cold immediately when done boiling. Change the cold water once or twice as the hot eggs will warm up the water. ;)

Thanks for the tips guys (except Moss as previously mentioned) I know everyone has been waiting with baited breath whatever that means, I tried two hard boiled eggs using the blow removal method, maybe I needed the air compressor. I could not do it, sorry.
