Thank you, Eric.In Canada it's the long O, in USA the short O. Unless you live near the border. Then it may be either. Then there is the accent from New Brunswick, a province in eastern Canada. Lyse Doucet, a journalist who works for the BBC speaks with this distinctive accent. It was more pronounced when I first heard her years ago. It is an interesting accent.

Me too.The only time I say project with a long O is when your are telling someone to speak more loudly and clearly. PRO-JECT!
Your writing reads like some of my relatives in the Charleston area sound. There are people in certain parts of the UK who sound the same as them but without the drawl.What are y’all talking aboot? Or am I completely oot of my mind?![]()
