+2 on an Auto body shop supply. Get a can or resin with the hardener included.......Get 3 or 4 throw away small brushes and some small cups to mix in.....Put down a layer of resin, then lay down some cloth and some more resin on top of that. Wait til tomorrow to sand with rough paper or a disc sander and then paint........If it's real bad do both sides.........You can't mess it up so try it.....EASY PEASY.........God bless..........Dennis

My brother just repair mine using the fiberglass, he stitched the plastic together with wire before applying the patch and painting. I haven't seen it yet as he is still working on my seat and a couple of other things, he said it looks OK though obvious.

For me, I use super glue to "tack" the pieces together before I apply the fiberglass resin and then the cloth. Yes, I use latex gloves while handling the pieces before the super glue cures as that stuff does NOT bond with the latex........God bless....Dennis

He might have done that too if he had taken the top off or if there wasn't so much deformation. In my youth I did some body work, but it was all on metal and am completely lost on this. I sent him the link from Waxman as I know my brother uses different techniques on plastic bumpers.

A repair made with polyester (resin) and fiberglass should be topped/covered with gel coat to make it 100% impervious to moisture...then it can be painted...if an epoxy resin (rather than polyester) is used add a tack free agent and just sand and paint...

To repair a truly shattered part or portion of something like mentioned in the OP...there is a variety of closed cell PVC foam products (sheet goods etc.) i.e., 'Klegecell' , 'Divinycell' etc. etc....these are space age products and can be be thermally shaped and molded...or built up...

...these products are extremely light (4'x8' sheet of 1/2" board weighs just ounces*)...but when laminated/encapsulated with resin and glass,Kevlar, carbon fiber etc... it is VERY strong...unbelievably strong...!

*these products come in different density/strengths...

A 1/2" sheet of Divinycell (lightest density available) laminated on both sides with 3/4 oz matting and 1.5 ounce fab-mat cloth...and the sheet is as strong or stronger than a sheet of plywood of the same gauge...and weighs less than half (including gel coat)...

Use that silver body tape on the inside of the roof to align the broken pieces,
and it provides a backing for, fiberglass bondo, this stuff gets hard as rock,
grind it to an almost match, then just apply regular bondo to match the contour.
