How do you repair a damaged Kubota cab top ?

What is so special about the 4610 top? How huge is that thing? The plastic top for a B26 is "only" $500.

We picked up a damaged top for a larger tractor, today from our dealer. Did a google search on some numbers we found on it. Cost on it was less than 1100.00. We then checked the price from the same dealer on our L4610 top & was quoted 1581.00
I guess we just lucked out with expensive parts.

We took the plunge today, after several test trials, & repaired it with common hot melt glue. Although we know it is not what we had hoped for, I think it will do the job. If by chance it fails, we will just cover the whole top.

Before doing the job we ran a test, gluing a small piece to the underside at a 90 deg position, let it cure for a day & could not pull it off with pliars. Finally cut it off short with a hack saw blade. This seemed to hold better than any of the plastic weld rods we tried.

That stuff is garbage from what I can tell through research a while back - no actual experience with it. There are definitely much more proven options available at places like HD.

food for thought, use aluminum sheet held in place with pop-rivets and sealed with caulking compound. Orange paint would almost make it look OEM.

How about a flexible roofing membrane. It is on every rv and seams to work out well. Drape it over the sides and run a band of aluminum flat bar to hold it in place.

I took the lid from my DK45 to a local plastics supplier and manufacturing company. They patched and welded mine in two places for about $100. I got a quote for $1400 for new and there was no way that was going to happen. If your repair fails, take it to a similar local shop and see what they say.

I know this post is old, but anyone have a solution? Ripped the rear lights out of mine. Real PITA of a set up for the light brackets. Tried the 2 part plastic weld epoxy but it seems wonky.

Most automotive parts places have the kit with a quart of liquid resin & catalyst along with fiberglass cloth. Has the brush as well. I have used a lot of this product on metal as well as fiberglass. Works fine and lasts forever. Paint it too.
