Money is a factor, Here's what I need a flat floor or a floor that I can roll Motorcycle lifts stands and other projects around. I have a 8 by 10 which is packed. I also want to fix a old tractor and other old motors... so I was going to build a deck as I can, This is the way I did my privacy fence a section at a time.. any ideas?

A ground level deck would work, but dang "see-ment" would really be the way to fly. I would pour it in sections as the $tree sprouts.

To be honest I didn't think of pouring cement in sections... Put one section together today to check measurements. Thanks for the plans cmyoung2 I think we have it figured out.. Since we are doing this backwards should be fun... need to get some stuff completed and bought first. Thanks for the help so far, Just need time and a few dollars now... I'm on a poor boy's budget these days. LOL ....

Most cement company's have a 3 yard minimum or they will bang you for a "short load". Here it's a hundered bucks extra for anything under 3 yards. Since a yard is a little over a hundered bucks it makes sense to order 3 or more.
I'm not too happy with our local cement place, now they are charging a
"fuel surcharge on every load"....$115 a yard, plus $20 a truck fuel charge. I just don't appreciate add on's...just give me the total price from the get go.

Cement.

You'll kick yourself if you do anything else.

Do you own or if you do much wrenching work you will soon own a torch. On a wood floor???? With oil & gas drips soaked it????? Yikes. Grinding wheel throwing sparks? A welder? Yikes!

2x planks give, a jack won't work. You won't be rolling the stuff over the planks anyhow, engine stands and such will dimple in.

You'll kick youself if you do anything but concrete.

You'll end up doing it twice if you don't concrete it now, and that will cost you twice.

Leave it gravel if you don't have the money, will be easier to make proprer in a couple years with concrete. Gravel floor won't work any worse than 2x plank floor!

One of my friends built one with a planked floor. He poured the sides that he building sat in and made a track for the boards to go on. Like mentioned above it never worked with jack and he had a Super C Farmall in there with a leaky carb. THe gas got under the planks and I cant think if a grinder or a sander set it and he had to to put it out with a hose. ALmost lost it all. He ripped it out and poured a half floor then did sections when money came available.

Thanks for the comments, alot to think about, this will be a slow project get building up first then i will worry about deck thinking cement in sections, will proably just use the wood deck in the current sheds for putting stuff on until i can afford cement, will be awile the sides will be cement since this is going over a filled in pool, the other sheds have to come down when i start putting this up
thanks again

well since I am on hold I have been putting the side pieces together, For anyone who has put one of these up did you bolt the sides to the foundation or just cement in? I hope to have it all ready to go before I get the building permit.

I also have to remove two small storage buildings but ones falling down anyway..

Going to the board on the 15th have approval from the neighborhood association so I hope this goes smooth...

Any ideas on what else I can do without erecting the sections? Thanks
