How long to wait to burn fresh timber?

Although tires do burn well, in most states, including TX, it's illegal to burn them.

Our local vet found out the hard way about burning such things. He threw a couple of old creosote fence posts on a burn pile and the black smoke brought out the environmentalists and fire dept.

Fire dept put out the fire and he got a ticket from the state. What a mess that was.

Watched a guy in Fla do something like that, except he used an airboat (BIG fan). /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

That happens quite a bit. I do know people that use tires but they always burn at night for just that reason.
