My Brother in Law watched the same thing happen at the dealership were he was working, except a Jag fell off a hoist. The young apprentice claimed the electric over hydraulic jammed. The only problem was the apprentices track record was getting rougher. He was asked to leave.
I do not know what the settlement was on the Jag.

At the Sears automotive in Phoenix several decades ago, new guy put a van on the hoist to put new muffler on, raised it up until the fire sprinkler punctured the roof and jammed the hoist, then filled the van will water. I think the customer got a new van from that one...

I assume it was a in ground lift?Don tthink ive ever seen one that lifted all on one side..

It's the truck owners fault, how was that tire guy supposed to know all that weight in the bed would make it unbalanced and fall off. :laughing:

I have a friend here who left his van at the muffler shop then got a call mid-day telling him they'd set his van on fire and totalled it. Just another bad day at the shop...

Dodge dealer over in east Texas did the same thing to a new diesel p/u that came in for it's first service. Owner wasn't a happy camper to say the least.
