How many miles are on your vehicle

My neighbor down the street has a 2001 E250 Ford Van with a 5.4 that just spun a bearing yesterday with 398,000 miles. Original motor, second trans. Its a service vehicle that pulled a 7K trailer 2/3 of its life. He maintains about 50 rental properties, both residential and commercial.

All are in good shape, going to run them until something cost prohibitive occurs.
Would rather make repairs than payments.
Only the 2001 CTD would be worth something to someone else.

Hope to upgrade the wife's 2003 Sub to something 2008-2010, feel more comfortable
with her and the kids in something a litttle newer, looking for the right deal.

Bought it off eBay. It was used by a tile and carpet company in the Sacramento area for local deliveries. Company went out of business in 2010 and signed the title over to one of its installation subcontractors to satisfy a lien. The sub had several trucks of his own so he listed it on eBay. I use it to haul my small parade tractors to local events and pick up stuff at the local lumber yard and the big box stores. Put about 700 miles per year on it. That 6.0L gasser is a beast but it's also a fuel hog, 9-10 mpg with a load on the bed, so it spends a lot of time resting under the carport.
