We kept our 1983 240D Benz for 25 years after buying it used 1 year in 1984. It had around 260k miles on it...... My wife wishes there was a car somewhere that she could still see the corners on, like she could on the 240D. None exist. .

I still have mine with about 400k and just breaking in. But I can't get myself to drive it much anymore. The poor girl can't get out of her own way on the freeways these days with all the fast cars. Too dangerous to drive in heavy traffic. My dog rode in that car for a few hundred thousand of those miles and to this day stands by the car on a nice day, wanting to get in to take an afternoon nap. I roll down the windows, let her in and she snoozes in there. Sometimes I idle the car for a while so she thinks she is going somewhere.

Slap a turbo on it. the 5 cylinder variant of this engine (as used in the 300D) was in some models turbocharged to 190hp off factory, and 230hp for long distance racing. 4/5 of 190hp is still 150hp, a vast improvement over the 70hp standard... 100hp would be cool for this engine, without requiring different swirl chambers in the heads, etcetera.

2013 RAM 1500 (6,000),2011 RAM 3500 (24,900) my old 95 YOTA 4X4 shows 260,000 but hasnt worked the 6yrs have owned it.
Wifes Grandad has a Toyota pickup with 400,000+,nothing other than regular maintance but he doesnt drive over 50mph,if that.

2004 Silverado LS X-Cab, Just turned 60,000 miles on friday!
The reason it is so high is because I use it for business and pleasure!!
The fact that my business is on the back of my property kinda helps keep it down.
I did have a 1989 Silverado with 240,000 miles on it and ran great when I sold it.

1989 Ford F-250, 7.3 diesel, 375,000 miles on original engine. Rebuilt the tranny about 200,000 miles ago. Starting to show its age though.

88 Toyota 4Runner 22RE auto 238k I am the second owner bought for $400 from the original owner with bad head gasket at 160k replaced timing set and did HG job. My daily driver.
2008 Jeep Liberty 135k wifes daily driver.
2000 Pontiac Grand Prix, daughters old car 302k just too good of a car to get rid of, makes a good spare and I drive sometimes when it is raining and my top is off of the 4Runner.
95 Toyota pu 380k my sons beater he got it when he was 14 as a basket case in 2003, he has put nearly 100k on it since. It lives here on the farm too.
