Hi!

Here is an update...been making some progress on the pond.

Hopefully this will give new guys like me some idea of how useful a tractor can be!

The highside is about where I need to use a box blade on it I think. want to level it and take off another 8 inches or so.

To get to this poing I used my backhoe to dig the level down and then carried the stuff to the other side of the pond with the loader.

I used the backhoe to tape the bank woking from the top mostly, after pushing the top soil off with the loader from above, then going down and scooping it up for later use.

Three supervisors who have a vested interest in my work...

Also note the "poor man's canopy" on the tractor! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Looks good, Macher. Gives you are real sense of pride being able to make improvements like that to your property, doesn't it?

What are you going to do with the hillside to keep it from eroding into the pond?

Talk about timing! You were posting a new thread asking the same question at the same time I was asking it to you. I will be interested in seeing what replies you get.

Coming out great, backhoe's gotta be a nice option and hard dirt, especially if you have some boulders in there. Lot easier digging them out with a 'hoe compared to a loader!!

Done at the pond for the time being. Accomplished what I wanted to this year. We'll see how it looks when the grass comes in...

Here are some final shots...

This one is an overview...
